I got this phone after my S3 started having issues. The cameras and screen a great. The phone is a good size, but you have to hold it just right when talking to people or they will sound really far away. The biggest draw back to the phone is the memory. It is advertised as being a 16 gig phone. The problem is it has over 4 gigs of bloatware on it. So after that you only have about 11 gigs to use yourself. If you don't put a lot of music on your phone it is a great phone, but if you want to put a lot of stuff on it I would really check in to how much memory you are going to need.

Everything works except the SIM card which will lock up randomly. So, you check your phone and it's fine, put it in your pocket, next time you pull it out, the SIM card is disabled and you won't know if you missed any calls. To fix it, turn airplane mode on and then off. It's really a beautiful phone, the camera is great. But HTC missed the 'make the phone work' part. I wish I had gotten something else, and now I'm stuck with a non-phone for 2 years.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by RealAnswers SIM card and email problems
We have two of these new phones in our house, and both of them have had SIM card problems. It just disappears in the phone's software. You can't do anything until you reboot the phone. Very annoying when in the middle of a call. Then the problem returns a day later. Reseating the SIM card doesn't seem to help. They say this is a known issue and maybe a software update will fix it. I have had this problem for 2 months now and there is still no fix.
Also, this phone has a problem downloading email attachments from Microsoft Exchange 2010. It downloads at about 10 KB/s on 4G LTE or Wireless. A 1 MB attachments takes about 2 minutes to download. I've tried 6 other phones including my old HTC Incredible and they can download the same attachment in 2 seconds. There is definitely a problem here. I have confirmed other DNA users are having the same problem and so far there is not even a mention of a fix.
Other than that, this phone is amazing. Would be a 5 star phone without these problems.

I have had this phone for two months. I absolutely love it. The design is so amazing, i enjoy looking at it. The phone feels great in my hand. The 1080p screen, beats audio, quad core processor, nice camera and lots of nice features made it the hottest phone of 2012. The battery is pretty good, i get two days of battery life always.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by hkarl Past 3 phones were iphone 4, Razr Maxx, and Galaxy Nexus
I loved my iphones camera, the speed of my nexus and the battery life of my Razr Maxx, but my main concern was a phone that gets great reception with a great camera that was fast. The camera is fast and takes nice clear pictures, though I don't think the color is as true as the Iphone's. This phone gets 4 bars 4g where my nexus was barely picking up a signal. The screen is awesome, as good looking as my iphone but big enough that my 40 year old eyes can actually read the screen. The speed is faster than all three of my last 3 phones. I have been using it heavily and the battery life hasn't been terrible but after I start using it more normally I will be able to see how it actually compares. I was concerned with the lack of ability to expand storage but I figure I did ok with my iphone at 16gb so we will see. I'm loving this phone, very happy with my purchase!

Simply put I said that after I owned the Thunderbolt by HTC that I would no longer buy an HTC product. After owning the iphone5 for 11 days I returned the iphone due to the fact that it's just too small and did very little for me other than be beautiful phone. I was looking around VW and saw this phone at the store, so I decided to give HTC another try. Here is a FACT: This is the best phone I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few phones and have experience on all Android OS from Cupcake to Jellybean I have owned the Original Droid, 2 and 3, X1 and X2, Bionic, Thunderbolt, Charge, Fascinate, GS3 and iphone5. A lot of reviews will talk about battery life and no SD...Come on with Google Drive and plenty of free storage like Dropbox and Skydrive the no sd is no stopper for me. And as for the battery--it's lasted longer than any my previous phones to include the iphone5, so don't knock the battery size of 2020 mah as a red flag. The quad core processor does miracles for the battery life on the phone. Call quality is none the less the best. LTE signal everywhere!! Display 1080P!

Love this phone, Coming from the HTC Thunderbolt I was scared to go with another HTC device cause the battery on the Thunderbolt was terrible (among other issues) Ive very happy to see this is not the case with the DNA. Sure it’s not the best battery in the world, but it gets the job done. No longer am I at 30% battery life after 4 hours. At 100% charge it lasted me 14 hours so that’s good for me! If you’re a previous Thunderbolt owner considering buying this phone, do it. You wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by pickle6037 Worth buying
For now the best phone on the market definitely worth buying. Its really thin and light although it was hard for me to get used to screen size(coming from 4.3 rezound and tbolt). All the apps as well as web browsing specially on 4g are smooth and blazing fast no lag or anything like that. Battery life is acceptable tho as always it could be better but for this screen is not bad thanks to that the quad core. The only thing that is missing is simultaneous talk and surf in 3g area this is only possible on 4g network. Another downside in my opinion is long charge time both from regular and cars outlets although I heard its better for battery life. Besides those two things this phone is beast and I recommend it to anyone simply because its top of the line phone no doubt

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DopHop Spectacular phone with few flaws.
This is my first smart phone and overall Im extremely satisfied with it. Its very fast mostly everywhere thanks to Verizons coverage. The screen is amazing. Although I usually run my brightness to reserve battery which I would have liked to have been able to last longer. I usually am able to get about 6 hours of use per charge so I carry my charger around with me. One thing Id also like to note is that after almost a month of us the charging port for the phone seems to have stopped working correctly so now I have to jimmy the plug to get the phone to start to charge. I would suggest this device for someone who enjoys having a large screen, likes browsing websites, and is a fan of android.

I have to restart my phone every 15 minutes to get it to work. Keep getting a SIM card error. Apparently this is a known issue with HTC but I dont feel like anything is being done to fix it. I would stay away from it until you know this has been fixed for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Twojobjeff The SIM card loosens and must be re inserted. Twice in three months.
The DNA has a poor SIM card positioning which continues to loosen and must be ejected and re inserted.
This problem occurs with other HTC designed phones as well.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by riverjets RAZR MAXX HD, MORE THAN MOST...LESS THAN A FEW.
The Droid Razr Maxx HD's long name would lead you to believe it personifies greatness, but not all is true. Don't get me wrong it is an excellent phone with a great operating system, battery life(for a smart phone, I just came from a standard phone for the last 6 years that would hold for a week, but I know why.), and build quality so far. The processor, should be a quad core, but it fairs just fine if you aren't an extreme gamer or heavy duty multitasker. I have had the phone for about 2 weeks and it was easy to pick up most features, functions and customization. One of my major gripes is the front screen has a sharp edge that "bites" the ear after a little talk time, not an issue if you are adding an aftermarket case. I just think they could have rounde the glass and bezel better. The phone actually feels good in jean pockets, not too large, but if you are active and bend down a lot it will cut in a bit. I think the phone has excellent call quality and the camera is good enough for me, you want better get an actual camera dedicated to the task. Smart Actions work well and I find them to be a premium, I know other droids have this but thought it was worth a mention. Storage is great, I added a 32 GB Micro just to be safe. The Amoled display stacks up to my wife's 4S, but I doubt the iPhone 5. It is crisp and on par for most droids if not better. I would like to see a little less bezel like the Galaxy S3, but no device is perfect for each individual user, I just found this one to fit my needs the best. All in all I would recommend this phone to anyone considering it, it it not super simplistic like an IO6, but so much better quality in calls and build than a S3.

This is an outstanding phone except for the problems I have had using bluetooth. Bluetooth call clarity is sub-par to bad, looking forward to possible software update that may fix this. The wife and I both have DNA's and when talking to each other (or trying to) conversations are almost impossible. Allthough when talking and only one of is using bluetooth conversations are possible if not difficult. Since Blue tooth or hands free phone use is important to us we gave only 2 stars, but if you do not need bluetooth I would give 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SailingInCircles Large clear display with plenty of speed and battery life
I love the large 5" display on the DNA. It is as large as I feel a phone can be and still be worn on the belt and single handled. The battery life is much better than other reviews I've read. I can easily get two days out of a single charge with my usage and the out-of-the-box power settings. The responsiveness is excellent with the quad core processor, even running the latest version of Chrome. The sound quality is very good.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Zebulon Great Phone w/ Minor Annoyances
I bought the Thunderbolt when it first came out and seeing how horrible that phone was, I swore never to buy an HTC phone again.
I even gave up the LTE speed on the T-Bolt for the iPhone 4S because it was so bad.
However, after looking at the DNA, my view on HTC phones has changed.
First off, it is a BIG phone, which for someone with fat fingers like myself is actually good for typing.
But the funny thing is it doesn't FEEL big primarily because it's light and razor thin.
The 1080p HD screen is amazing and the quad core processor makes transitions flawless. I haven't experienced any lag so far.
Battery life is about what I expected for such a big phone. With consistent moderate usage (checking email, Twitter, Facebook, browsing web, testing apps, etc) I can usually go from 7 am - 6 pm before needing to plug it in. That's about what I was getting from my iPhone 4S.
I opted against going with the RAZR Maxx HD because of the bad camera reviews. I like to take pics with my phone and the camera on the DNA is very impressive.
My main complaint is the flimsy panel that you have to open to charge the phone. It's a pain to open, feels like it's going to break off, and looks horrible while the phone is charging.
Guess I'll have to spring for a wireless charging mat.
Google Voice Search is pretty good and very comparable to Siri. In fact, sometimes it's better.
All in all, this is a very nice phone, and probably the best Android one available on Verizon right now.
No phone is perfect and this one is no exception, but if you want a powerful multimedia phone, this is the one to get.

The phone is a great phone ...I've been a loyal "droid" branding fan since day one in 07....this is the best droid by far just wish Motorola had made it and not HTC . .my problem lies in the fact that my screen shattered while phone was charging. .not my fault or Verizon's its HTCs fault and they won't cover it....mind you I've only had the phone five days!!!! Now I have to purchase one through insurance and risk lossing that money too . ...HTC needs to step up and realize that all their phones suffer from this.....I do recommend the phone but not the first gen models wait till gen 3 at least then you know problem has been resolved....

This is a great phone. I love the screen size and how clear it is. The battery is good for the whole day with more than casually usage. It takes better pictures than my point and shoot camera. With some of the apps I have installed it makes it so much easier to keep up with email and our family schedule.

Up front I should say I am a loyal HTC person. I have had my Droid Incredible since they first came out and have had 0, zero problems with it. Love It! So, I have been patiently waiting for HTC to pull it all together in one package and they've finally done it. My DNA Rocks!! I love EVERYTHING about it, yes, everything. This phone just reaffirms my loyalty to HTC. I could go on and on about every feature and why it ROCKS, but I will just leave it this way. Thank you HTC. Thank you Verizon.

I have had this phone for about 5 months. I love it! The battery lasts all day with average use. Doesn't lag at all. The display is simply gorgeous! My only complaint, and a lot of people have had this problem, is that every once in a while it says it can't find the sim card. A simple restart fixes this. Still a little annoying but not a deal breaker. I find the 16 gigs of storage to be enough, but other people might need more... Long story short.... I can't put this thing down, even 5 months later!
