The menu at the top of the BlinkFeed screen has been replaced with a new menu that is accessed by swiping in from the left side of the screen. This new menu gives you quicker access to switch content sources and search for custom topics.
If BlinkFeed is not for you, you now have the ability to turn it off. To toggle BlinkFeed on or off, perform a pinch-in gesture on the Home screen to access the edit screen and tap BLINKFEED ON or BLINKFEED OFF at the top-left of the screen.
The Location settings have been redesigned to make it easier to use and to provide new options to improve Battery Life.
The new screen includes a master switch to turn all location settings on or off, as well as a listing of which apps are currently using location services and the estimated battery use of each app.
A new setting has also been added that allows you to choose between the following location profiles:
The Gallery application has been redesigned to make it easier to view different content configurations (folders, highlights, etc.). The drop-down menu at the top has been replaced with panels for each configuration. Simply swipe left or right to switch between panels.
You can also quickly access photos that live on your favorite cloud storage services or social networks.
Additionally, it is now easier to manage end edit your Video Highlights.
From the EVENTS panel, tap the desired event, and then switch to the VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS panel. From here, quickly select the pictures, themes and music you want.
The Music application has been redesigned to make it easier to view different content configurations (artists, albums, etc.). The drop-down menu at the top has been replaced with panels for each configuration. Simply swipe left or right to switch between panels.
The new Do not disturb setting is a quick way to keep your phone from distracting you during an important event. Enabling this setting will block incoming calls and turn off sound, vibration and LED notifications.
You can also set it to return to normal mode after a set period of time. To access Do not disturb, go to Settings > Sound > Do not disturb.
To access the lock screen widget panels, simply swipe left from the lock screen. Tap the + icon to choose a widget to add to the lock screen
