    How can I share my Internet from my computer to my phone?
    Internet pass-through or USB tethering lets you share your computer's Internet connection to your handset. To share your computer's Internet with your handset, please connect the handset to the computer via USB cable then drag the status bar down from the top of the screen. Choose Internet pass-through as the connection type. The handset will now be able to access the Internet through the computer's connection.

    How do I use GPS on my phone?
    In order for you to use GPS on your phone in applications such as Footprints and Google Maps, please first turn on GPS. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Location, and check the Use GPS satellites box.

    If you are having trouble connecting to a GPS satellite, try the following to see if this helps.

    1. Make sure that Use wireless networks is checked in the settings menu located at MENU from the home screen > Settings > Location. 2. Make sure you have a clear unobstructed view of the sky. Things such a ceilings, roofs, and weather may affect GPS performance. 3. To achieve the best performance, try to place yourself in an area for there is a 360 degree view of the sky. Tall buildings and walls may slightly affect GPS performance.

    NOTE 1: Turn on this function may shorten the handset's battery life depending on the usage.

    NOTE 2: This function requires GPS in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my handset's battery life?"

    How can I use a different language enter?
    To use a different language from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Language and keyboard > Touch > International keyboard then choose your preferred language .

    You can use "keyboard" as a keyword in searching on the Android Market to look for an application to help you use a different language if the language you are looking for is not on the default list.

    What version of HTC Sync do I use?
    Your phone is compatible with up to HTC Sync version 3.0. While backwards compatibility is always considered, we recommend you always use the latest version compatible with your phone. You can download this program at our website under the support section. You will also find a detailed guide on how to use HTC Sync there. Some regions will have this program in the microSD card that shipped with the phone, however, this availability varies by region.

    How can I synchronize my handset to my computer?
    You can use HTC Sync to synchronize your data with a Windows-based computer. Please download and install the latest version of HTC sync from our support website at http://www.htc.com/us/support After the installation, please connect the handset to the computer with the supplied USB cable. Let the handset and computer install drivers, and when complete you will be able to synchronize your data like music, pictures, documents, bookmarks, calendar entries and contacts.

    How do I backup my phone?
    Your Google contacts, Google calendar and Gmail can be backed up to a Google server as long as you choose Google account when saving or creating calendar events and contacts.

    You can also use the keyword "backup" and search on the Android Market for an application, which you can use.

    NOTE 1: Resetting your handset to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory; please backup your files first.

    NOTE 2: To copy your phone contacts to Google contacts, please refer "How to copy phone contacts to Google contacts?"

    How do I adjust the time before my phone go to sleep mode?
    After a period of inactivity, the phone screen turns off to conserve battery power. You can set the idle time before the screen turns off. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Display > Screen Timeout. From here you can select the length of time (15 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 10 minutes or Never turn off) before the screen goes to sleep mode.

    NOTE : "Never turn off" usage may shorten the handset's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my handset's battery life?"

    How can I share my Internet with a compatible device?
    There are two ways you can share your Internet to a compatible device: either through USB or you can use the handset as a portable wireless hotspot. Please make sure that you have an active mobile data connection on the handset in order to use these functions.

    To share your Internet to a computer via USB, please connect the handset to a computer using the supplied USB cable and make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks and please check USB Tethering. The handset will start sharing the Internet connection to the computer. To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck USB Tethering or simply disconnect the handset from the computer.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks then check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings then after configuring the settings, the handset will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices. To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.

    NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    To change the font size from home screen please press All apps > Internet > Menu > More > Settings > Set text size then choose from the list.

    How do I set-up a VPN connection on my phone?
    To set-up a VPN connection, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > VPN settings > Add VPN and select a type of VPN you want to create. Next enter the VPN settings then press MENU > Save when you are finished.

    What is Wi-Fi tethering?
    Wi-Fi tethering is sharing your Internet with other Wi-Fi capable devices. The handset will act as a wireless router that will broadcast a wireless network, which can be picked up by Wi-Fi enabled devices. The handset will use it's data connection (3G/GPRS) for this function. Please be advised that your mobile operator may charge extra for data services.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings. After configuring the settings, the handset will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices.     How do I synchronize my phone with my Google account?
    Your phone is set-up by default to automatically sync with your Google account, if you have set one up already. To set-up a Google account, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add Account > Google > Next. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the account information.

    If you don't want to synchronize automatically, from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Accounts & sync and then uncheck Background data and Auto-sync.

    NOTE 1: You need a valid Google account and an Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    You can prevent the Internet from disconnecting while downloading if you are connected to Wi-Fi. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > MENU > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > Never.

    How can I pair my phone using Bluetooth?
    To pair your phone using Bluetooth, from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Wireless and networks then check Bluetooth > Bluetooth settings > Scan for devices. Your phone should search for available devices in range and it will show the list on your screen. Tap the device name of the phone you will be pairing with and it should try to connect. It should ask for a common code for the pairing to be successful. Enter any number/s from your phone and enter the same number/s on the other phone.

    How do I change the font size of my email?
    To change the font size, from home screen please press All apps > Mail then select the appropriate mail you would like to access and press Menu > More > Settings > General Settings > Font size. Select from the list.

    Can I limit the number of users connected to my phone using Wi-Fi hotspot?
    In order to limit the number of users connected to your phone using Wi-Fi hotspot please go to All Apps > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings > Manage users > maximum connections.

    NOTE : To change the maximum connections make sure that the "Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot" is unchecked or turned off.

    How do I set MP3 as an alarm sound?
    To set your own music file as an alarm sound, please use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the microSD card on your phone from the computer and be able to copy music onto the microSD card.

    Please open the new removable disk on your computer. Create a folder on the root folder of the microSD card and name it alarms then copy your desired MP3 files to this folder. Any song or MP3 file that you put in the alarms folder will be added on to the list of available alarms on the handset.

    After you have finished copying, turn off USB storage by pressing MENU from the home screen > Notifications, select the ongoing Connect to PC status and tap Charge only.

    The Alarm clock will automatically search this folder for personalized alarm tones and when you create an alarm or a calendar entry, the MP3 file will be on the list of available alarms.

    NOTE 1: During this time, you can’t access the SD card from your phone, so you can’t use applications that rely on the SD card such as Camera, Gallery, or Music.

    NOTE 2: The MP3s that you put in the alarms folder will not be seen by the music player application.

    Can I sync my Hotmail contacts to my phone?
    The handset only supports synchronizing with a Gmail account. You need to export your Hotmail contacts to your Gmail account first and then sync the handset with your Gmail account. You may search for instructions on how you can export your contacts from your Hotmail account and how to import the contacts to your Gmail account. You may also search for software that enables you to export your Hotmail contacts to the handset automatically in Android Market. To search Android Market, from the home screen please press All apps> Market. Search for the keywords "transfer Hotmail contacts".

    NOTE 1: To access Android Market, you must sign in to your Google Account first. Paid application availability will vary by region.

    How do I change my phone's name?
    The phone name identifies your phone to other devices. To change your phone's name, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings > Device name. You can then enter the name you'd like to use.

    How do I pair a Bluetooth headset?
    To use a Bluetooth headset with your device, you must first pair and connect it. Make sure that your Bluetooth headset is in "pairing mode".     How do I send photos through Bluetooth?
    Yes, the handset supports sending multiple photos through Bluetooth. From the home screen please press All apps> Gallery > All photos > Share > Bluetooth and put a check on the photos that you want to send. Tap Next and then tap Turn on if Bluetooth is not turned on. Please select a paired device or Scan for devices that your device will start to scan for Bluetooth devices within range paired, your phone will start transfer the photo to the other device.

    Where can I check the file that was transferred to my phone using Bluetooth?
    To check a file transferred via Bluetooth to your phone, first you need to create a folder shortcut on your home screen.

    There are three ways to create a folder shortcut on your phone:

    1. From home screen please press All apps > Settings > Personalize then on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    2. From the home screen, please press Personalize and on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    3. While on the home screen, tap and hold an empty space for about 2 seconds. The Personalize page comes up and on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    NOTE 1: All apps is the square icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.

    NOTE 2: Personalize is the paint brush icon in the lower right corner of the home screen that open's the phone customization menu.

    To set a ringtone for a particular contact, from the home screen please press All apps> People then tap the contact that you want to assign a specific ringtone. Tap Ringtone then choose the ringtone you want to assign to the contact and tap OK.

    You can also add a MP3 file as your contact ringtone with these steps: from the home screen press All apps > Music > MENU then tap set as ringtone and choose "Contact ringtone" . Next select the contact you want to have the ringtone (you can select multiple contacts by checking) then tap Save at the bottom of the screen to finish.

    You can bookmark as many websites as you want to quickly access them anytime you want. From the home screen please press All apps > Internet. While viewing the web site press MENU > Add bookmark. You can edit the name of the bookmark then tap Add.

    How do I assign MP3 as a contact ringtone?
    To use a MP3 file as a contact ringtone, from the home screen please press All apps > Music. Search for the audio sound you want to use as a ringtone then press Menu > Set as ringtone > Contact ringtone. Please search and tap on the contact/s you want to have the ringtone, then tap save. A message will appear "Music was set as contact ringtone".

    How do I set a ringtone for incoming calls?
    There are two ways to set-up a ringtone for incoming calls:

    1. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone. Tap the ringtone you want to use on the list, and then tap OK.

    2. You can also use a MP3 file as a ringtone. To set-up a MP3 file as your ringtone, please use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the microSD card on your phone from the computer and be able to copy music onto the microSD card. On your computer, please go to My computer and open the new removable disk; copy the MP3 file you want to set as a ringtone to the music folder. If there is no music folder, create a new folder on the root folder of the microSD card and name it music.

    After you have finished copying, turn off USB storage by pressing MENU from the home screen > Notifications, select the ongoing Connect to PC status and tap Charge only.

    From the home screen please press All apps > Music and tap the music you want to set as ringtone (the music will start playing) then press MENU > Set as ringtone. You can set the MP3 file as a Phone ringtone, Contact ringtone or you can select Trim the ringtone.
