    How do I setup a VPN connection on my device?
    To setup a VPN connection, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > VPN settings > Add VPN and select a type of VPN you want to create then enter the VPN Settings. Press MENU > Save when you are finished.

    NOTE 1: An Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    How do I synchronize my device with my Google account?
    Your device is setup by default to automatically sync with your Google account, if you have set one up already. To setup a Google account, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add Account > Google > Next and follow the onscreen instructions to enter the account information.

    If you don't want to synchronize automatically, from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Accounts & sync and then uncheck Background data and Auto-sync.

    NOTE 1: You need a valid Google account and an Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    How can I share my Internet with a compatible device?
    There are two ways you can share your Internet to a compatible device: either through USB or you can use the device as a portable wireless hotspot. Please make sure that you have an active mobile data connection on the device in order to use these functions.

    To share your Internet to a computer via USB, please connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable and make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks and please check USB Tethering. The device will start sharing the Internet connection to the computer. To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck USB Tethering or simply disconnect the device from the computer.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks then check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings then after configuring the settings. The device will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices. To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.

    NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    My new SMS displays the message on the lock screen. Can I choose not to display it?
    Yes you can toggle between displaying your new SMS on the lock screen. To access this setting, from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Privacy then uncheck Display messages text on lock screen.

    How do I bookmark a web site?
    You can bookmark as many websites as you want to quickly access them anytime you want. from the home screen please press All apps > Internet then tap the add icon > bookmark. Make any necessary changes and tap Add to finish.

    How can I use a different language enter?
    To use a different language from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Language and keyboard > Touch input > International keyboard then choose your preferred language.

    You can use "keyboard" as a keyword in searching the Android Market to look for an application to help you use a different language if the language you are looking for is not on the default list.

    How do I use GPS on my device?
    In order for you to use GPS on your device in applications such as Footprints and Google Maps, please first turn on GPS. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Location, and check the Use GPS satellites box.

    If you are having trouble connecting to a GPS satellite, try the following to see if this helps:

    1. Make sure that Use wireless networks is checked in the settings menu located from the home screen at MENU > Settings > Location. 2. Make sure you have a clear unobstructed view of the sky. Things such as ceilings, roofs, and weather may affect GPS performance. 3. To achieve the best performance, try to place yourself in an area for there is a 360 degree view of the sky. Tall buildings and walls may slightly affect GPS performance.

    NOTE 1: Turn on this function may shorten the device's battery life depending on the usage.

    NOTE 2: This function requires GPS in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the device's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my device's battery life?"

    How do I turn on my 3G connection?
    To turn on 3G connection, from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks and check Mobile network.

    To turn it off, from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks then untcheck Mobile network.

    Your device is compatible with up to HTC Sync version 3.0. While backwards compatibility is always considered, we recommend you always use the latest version compatible with your device. You can download this program at our website, under the support section. You will also find a detailed guide on how to use HTC Sync there. Some regions will have this program in the microSD card that shipped with the device, however, this availability varies by region.

    How can I synchronize my device to my computer?
    You can use HTC Sync to synchronize your data with a Windows-based computer. Please download and install the latest version of HTC sync from our support website at http://www.htc.com/www/support. After the installation, please connect the device to the computer with the supplied USB cable. Let the device and computer install drivers and once it is done, you will be able to synchronize your data like music, pictures, documents, bookmarks, calendar entries and contacts.

    What is Wi-Fi tethering?
    Wi-Fi tethering is sharing your Internet with other Wi-Fi capable devices. The device will act as a wireless router that will broadcast a wireless network, which can be picked up by Wi-Fi enabled devices. The device will use its data connection (3G/GPRS) for this function. Please be advised that your mobile operator may charge extra for data services.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings. After configuring the settings, the device will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices. To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.

    Where can I check the file that was transferred to my device using Bluetooth?
    To check a file transferred via Bluetooth to your device, first you need to create a folder shortcut on your home screen.

    There are three ways to create a folder shortcut on your device:

    1. From the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Personalize then on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    2. From the home screen please press Personalize and on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    3. While on the home screen, tap and hold an empty space for about 2 seconds. The Personalize page comes up and on the category "Add items to Home" tap Folder > Bluetooth received.

    NOTE 1: All apps is the square icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the device's application menu.

    NOTE 2: Personalize is the paint brush icon in the lower right corner of the home screen that open's the device's customization menu.

    NOTE 3: Please make sure there is at least one empty space for an icon on your home screen before you create a shortcut of the folder.

    How do I sync my contacts & calendar to Gmail?
    Your Google contacts, Google calendar and Gmail can be backed up to Google server as long as you choose Google account when saving or creating calendar events and contacts.

    NOTE 1: Resetting your device to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory. Please backup your files first.

    NOTE 2: To copy your device contacts to Google contacts, please refer "How to copy device contacts to Google contacts?"

    How do I change the font size on my Internet browser?
    To change the font size, from the home screen please press All apps > Internet > Menu > More > Settings > Set text size then choose from the list.

    NOTE 1: You can only change the default font of the browser you are currently using.

    Can I change the lock screen application shortcuts?
    Yes you can change the application shortcuts on your lock screen. To change the shortcuts, from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Personalize > Lock screen then tap shortcut to change for the list to come up. Tap a new application shortcu and then tap Done.

    How do I adjust the time before my device go to sleep mode?
    After a period of inactivity, the device screen turns off to conserve battery power. You can set the idle time before the screen turns off. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Display > Screen Timeout. From here you can select the length of time (15 Seconds, 30 Seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 10 minutes or Never turn off) before the screen goes to sleep mode.

    NOTE : "Never turn off" usage may shorten the device's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my device's battery life?"

    To disable the scribble sound for screenshots, the sound profile of the device has to be set to silent mode. To set the device to silent mode, please do the following:

    How do I set MP3 as an alarm sound?
    There are two ways to make a MP3 file an alarm sound:

    1. To set your own music file as an alarm sound, please use the micro USB cable to connect the device to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the microSD card on your device from the computer and be able to copy music onto the microSD card.

    Please open the new removable disk on your computer. Create a folder on the root folder of the microSD card called alarms then copy your desired MP3 files to this folder. Any song or MP3 file that you put in the alarms folder will be added on to the list of available alarms on the device.

    After you have finished copying, turn off USB storage by pressing MENU from the home screen > Notifications, select the ongoing Connect to PC status and tap Charge only.

    The Alarm clock will automatically search this folder for personalized alarm tones and when you create an alarm or a calendar entry, the MP3 file will be on the list of available alarms.

    2. You can select a MP3 file to be your alarm sound directly if you have MP3 files in your Music folder. From the home screen please press All apps > Clock then scroll to the right for Set an alarm > Alarm sound > Music then tap selected MP3 and tap Ok.

    NOTE 1: During this time, you can’t access the microSD card from your device, so you can’t use applications that rely on the microSD card such as Camera, Gallery, or Music.

    NOTE 2: The MP3 files that you put in the alarms folder will not be seen by the music player application.

    Can I limit the number of users connected to my device using Wi-Fi hotspot?
    In order to limit the number of users connected to your device using Wi-Fi hotspot please go to All apps > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings > Manage users > Maximum connections.

    NOTE 1: To change the maximum connections make sure that the "Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot" is unchecked or turned off.

    How do I use turn by turn navigation on the device?
    The device does support turn by turn navigation. First you must download a premium map. From the home screen press All apps > Locations > Menu > Get more > Purchase Navigation and choose the map for the country you are in.

    To use turn by turn navigation, from the home screen please press MENU > All apps > Car Panel > Navigation.

    NOTE 1: Purchase Navigation is the 2nd icon located on the lower left side of the screen; it is the map with the arrow icon pointing upwards.

    How can I share my Internet from my computer to my device?
    Internet pass-through or USB tethering lets you share your computer's Internet connection to your device. To share your computer's Internet with your device, please connect the device to the computer via USB cable then drag the status bar down from the top of the screen. Choose Internet pass-through as the connection type. The device will now be able to access the Internet through the computer's connection.

    NOTE: Please refer to "How can I synchronize my device to my computer?" to install HTC Sync.

    You can prevent the Internet from disconnecting while downloading if you are connected to Wi-Fi. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > MENU > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > Never.

    How do I send photos through Bluetooth?
    Yes, the device supports sending multiple photos through Bluetooth. From the home screen please press All apps > Gallery > All photos > Share > Bluetooth. Put a check on the photos that you want to send and tap Next, then tap Turn on if Bluetooth is not turned on. Please select a paired device or Scan for devices that your device will start to scan for paired Bluetooth devices within range. Your device will start transfer the photo to the other device.

    How do I pair a Bluetooth headset?
    To use a Bluetooth headset with your device, you must first pair and connect it. Make sure that your Bluetooth headset is in "pairing mode". from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Wireless and networks, then check Bluetooth > Bluetooth settings > Scan for devices. Your device should search for available devices in range and it will show the list on your screen. Tap the device name of the headset you will be pairing with and it should try to connect. If it asks for a code to be able to pair, enter the default code that comes with your device.

    To pair your device using Bluetooth, from the home screen please press All apps > Settings > Wireless and networks, and then check Bluetooth > Bluetooth settings > Scan for devices. Your device should search for available devices in range and it will show the list on your screen. Tap the device name of the device you will be pairing with and it should try to connect. It should ask for a common code for the pairing to be successful. enter any number/s from your device and enter the same number/s on the other device.

    Can I transfer my sketches thru Bluetooth?
    You can send your sketches thru Bluetooth. Even if the receiving device does not have the Sketchbook application, it will still accept the transfer and save the sketch as an image. To send the sketch, from the home screen please press All apps > Sketchbook then tap and hold the sketch to share. Next tap Share sketch > Bluetooth.

    Can I sync my Hotmail contacts to my device?
    The device only supports synchronizing with a Gmail account. You need to export your Hotmail contacts to your Gmail account first and then sync the device with your Gmail account. You may search for instructions on how you can export your contacts from your Hotmail account and how to import the contacts to your Gmail account. You may also search for software that enables you to export your Hotmail contacts to the device automatically in Android Market. To search Android Market, from the home screen please press All apps > Market. Search for the keywords "transfer Hotmail contacts".

    NOTE 1: To access Android Market, you must sign in to your Google Account first. Paid application availability will vary by region.

    How do I set MP3 as notification sound?
