    How can I edit Microsoft office files such as word, excel or PowerPoint?
    You can view and edit Microsoft office word and excel files and view PowerPoint files using the Polaris office application on the tablet.

    Please transfer files onto the tablet's micro SD card using HTC Sync or disk drive mode with a PC. To view Microsoft office files, please press All apps on the Home screen > Polaris Office > MENU > Folder / File then tap on a filename on the results screen to open the file and view it.

    To edit a word file, please press MENU > Edit to edit the contents on word file when you are viewing it. To edit an excel file, please press MENU > Edit to edit the contents on word and excel files when you are viewing it. To edit a PowerPoint file, please press MENU > Edit to edit the contents on the PowerPoint files when you are viewing it.

    NOTE 1: Please refer to the "Where can I purchase applications for my tablet?" FAQ for instruction on how to search and download an application from the Market.

    NOTE 2: This function requires Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the tablet's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my tablet's battery life?" FAQ.

    NOTE 3: A mobile internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    How to use Disk drive on my phone?
    Disc drive is a feature that will allow you to manage your phone or tablet’s stored data. The handset needs to be connected to a computer using the USB cable that came with the package. This feature is available on Windows operating system.

    To use Disc drive, kindly connect your phone to a computer. There will be a prompt on the phone, please choose Disc drive. This prompt will inform you that there is a new device connected. You may choose from the option or you may go to My Computer (XP below) or Computer (Vista above) to manage your files.

    What is the difference between Phone storage and Internal storage?
    Both storage allows you to save data, install applications and manage files on your phone or tablet. These storage can retain the stored information even when the device is not powered.

    What is Bootloader?
    Bootloader is a code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run; contains several ways to boot the OS kernel and also contain commands for debugging and / or modifying the kernel environment.

    To access Bootloader mode, please follow the steps below: 1. Press and hod the Power button and choose "Restart" in Power options list. 2. With the tablet turned off (All function keys & Screen back light are off!) , pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN button. 3. You will then see the white screen with 3 Androids on skateboard.

    To exit the Bootloader mode, please follow the steps below: 1. Make sure FASTBOOT option is choosen (You'll see the characters of FASTBOOT is white & with blue background, and if not please use the Volume Keys to select the previous or next item.) 2. Press Power button to enter FASTBOOT 3. Press Volume Down button three times to select POWER DOWN item. 4. Press Power button to execute POWER DOWN 5. With the tablet turned off, pressing the Power button to turn on your tablet.

    How can I enter safe mode?
    In order to enter safe mode, please turn off the tablet. Then briefly press the Power button to turn on the tablet. While the tablet powers on, press and hold the Volume down button until tablet loads the OS and "Safe Mode" should appear on the lower left part of the screen

    Safe mode is a way wherein you can view built-in applications without hard-resetting the tablet.

    How do I increase my accuracy on the keyboard?
    You can increase your accuracy on the keyboard by calibrating the keyboard to be more suitable to your tapping habits.

    Please press MENU from the home screen > Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input > Text input > Calibration tool. Tap the given phrase and after you have completed the calibration, the keyboard should be more attuned to your touch screen habits.

    Why do I see 2 removable devices in my Windows File Explorer?
    The 2 removable devices on your Windows File Explorer are the Internal and Phone storage of your phone or tablet. HTC designed the phone or tablet to have such feature so you can easily manage files on your HTC device.

    How to put media files on my phone?
    To manage your files, please use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the phone storage or the internal storage of your phone from the computer. Once detected, you may starting managing your files from phone to computer and vice versa.

    Please do not forget to unmount the removable disk as required by your computer’s operating system to safely remove your phone/tablet. NOTE : During this time, you can’t access the phone storage from your phone, so you can’t use applications that rely on the phone storage such as Camera, Gallery, or Music.

    Yes there is a way to view some major specifications of your tablet. To view these specifications, from the Home screen, please press All apps > Settings > About tablet > Hardware information.

    How can I inform HTC about problem or error on my device?
    You device has a feature named Tell HTC. This feature allows your device to send error reports to HTC. This report will go directly to HTC so we can review and study error reports. This is for future development plans, also to assist in enhancing our products and aiding in quickly resolving issues. To access the settings of Tell HTC, from the Home screen, please press All apps > Settings > About tablet > Tell HTC.

    NOTE : All apps option is the square icon on the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the tablet's application menu.

    NOTE 2: An internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G. Paid applications are available in specified territories only.

    How can I soft reset the tablet when it's freezing?
    A soft reset closes any running application and refreshes the memory of the tablet without deleting any files. A soft reset can be performed by doing the following:

    Tap and hold on the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons. While holding on the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons, please tap and hold the Power button until the screen closes.

    Is there a way I can delete everything on the internal memory?
    Warning: Resetting your tablet will erase your internal memory completely. Remember to back up your internal memory.

    You can delete your music, pictures, & all data on the internal memory. To erase internal memory, from the Home screen, please press All apps > Settings > SD & Tablet storage > Erase internal storage > Erase internal storage > Erase everything.

    NOTE 1: All apps is the square icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the tablet's application menu.

    NOTE 2: Resetting your tablet's internal memory storage will delete all the data stored on your internal memory, please back up your files first. To backup all of your personal information on your tablet, please refer to the FAQ "How do I backup my tablet".

    How can I take a screenshot on the tablet?
    There are two ways to take a screenshot on the tablet:

    1. On the Home Screen, please use the pen to tap on the red Pen Button located on the lower rightmost part of the screen, and then tap on the Screenshot button, the Screenshot button is located below the Notepad button. 2. You may also tap on the Power button and the Home button at the same time to take a screenshot.

    How do I charge the pen?
    The pen for the tablet requires one (1) quadruple A (AAAA) battery. A rechargeable battery may also be used as long as it is a quadruple A (AAAA) battery.

    How do I reset my tablet back to the factory default settings?
    Warning: Resetting your tablet will erase your phone memory completely. Remember to back up your tablet information and settings.

    Please press MENU from the Home screen, then tap Settings > SD & tablet storage > Factory data reset > Reset tablet.

    You can also perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the tablet. 1. With the tablet turned off, long press the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button. 2. Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button. 3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press POWER. 4. When asked to confirm, press VOLUME UP.

    NOTE: Resetting your tablet to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory, please back up your files first. To backup all of your personal information on your tablet, please refer to the FAQ "How do I backup my tablet".

    How can I prolong my tablet's battery life?
    Please follow these simple tips in order to maximize battery life.

    1. When not in use, always disable your tablet's Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPRS. If the tablet is not in use, set the battery power to the minimum level. 2. Set the backlight setting to its minimum. 3. Always charge the tablet using the power adapter since charging through USB uses low voltage. 4. Try uninstalling 3rd party software. Since it is not tested by HTC, there is a risk in impacting your tablet's performance, including battery life. 5. Please check if there are any applications running in the background. Please press MENU from the home screen > Settings > Applications > Running services. You will find all the running applications on this screen and you have an option to stop them by tapping on a running application. 6. You may also check the signal strength in your area. Whenever it gets unstable, the tablet will keep searching for a stronger signal. This may also shorten battery life.

    Can I change my primary Google account on my tablet?
    Once you have configured your first Google account on the tablet, it is treated as the primary one. The primary Google account is utilized by all applications on the tablet that are linked to Google like Android Market, Gmail, Google Maps, etc. The only way to remove or change the primary Google account on the tablet is by performing a hard reset.

    NOTE 1: Performing a hard reset will wipe out all user data on the phone memory, please backup your data before proceeding.

    NOTE 2: This function requires Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the tablet's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my tablet's battery life?" FAQ.

    NOTE 3: To hard reset your tablet, please refer to the FAQ "How do I reset my tablet back to the factory default settings?".

    Why does the tablet heat up when I’m charging the battery or when I’m making long calls?
    When using your tablet for prolonged periods of time, such as charging the battery, browsing the web or using navigating software, the device may become warm. In most cases this is normal and therefore should not be interpreted as a problem with the tablet.

    How can I edit my signature on my email account?
    To change your signature on the email application, please press All apps on the Home screen > Mail > MENU > More > Settings > General settings > Signature to edit your own signature.

    If you have different email accounts that setup on the tablet, please press All apps on the Home screen > Mail, tap on the circle with down pointing arrow on the upper left side of the Inbox screen and select an account > MENU > More > Settings > General settings > Signature to edit your own signature.

    To change your signature in your Gmail account please press All apps on the Home screen > Gmail > MENU > More > Settings > Signature to edit your own signature.

    NOTE 1: All apps option is the square icon on the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the tablet application menu.

    NOTE 2: The email program on your tablet is different from the Gmail application and thus has different settings.

    Can I set-up a tablet lock aside from the Locking Pattern?
    Yes, there are 3 different types of screen lock you can use, to set-up a screen lock, please press MENU from the Home screen > Settings > Security > Set-up screen lock. You can use the following as a screen lock:

    1. Pattern - Set a screen lock pattern by following the onscreen instructions. 2. PIN - Set a numeric password of at least four digits. 3. Password - Set an alpha-numeric password. Tap the text field to show the onscreen keyboard, then enter your password.

    NOTE: In case you forgot you screen lock you may need to perform a hard reset on the tablet, please refer to the "How do I reset my tablet back to the factory default settings?" FAQ.

    I cannot access safe mode when I try since the tablet turns off so fast.
    If after several attempts, you are still unable to access safe mode for the reason that it turns on so fast, Kindly turn off Fast boot setting on the phone. To turn off this feature, from the Home screen, please press All apps > MENU > Settings > Power then untick Fast boot. NOTE 1: All apps option is the square icon on the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the tablet's application menu.

    How do I keep the screen turned ON while charging the tablet?
    You can keep the screen from turning off while you’re charging the tablet. Please press MENU from the Home screen > Settings > Applications > Development, then select the Stay awake check box.

    NOTE : "Stay awake" usage may shorten the tablet's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my tablet's battery life?" FAQ.

    Is the tablet compatible with hearing aid?
    Yes, the tablet is Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC). To activate this feature, you need to install additional applications from the Android Market. From the Home screen, please press All apps > Market then search the keyword "Talkback", "Soundback" and "Kickback" and follow the prompts to install the application. After the installation, from the Home screen, please press MENU > Settings > Accessibility, tick Accessibility then tick Talkback, Soundback or Kickback.

    TalkBack - gives tablet user a voice navigation guide in accessing tablet features. SoundBack - gives user a sound guide when accessing tablet features. KickBack - gives a vibrating alert when accessing different tablet features.

    NOTE 1: All apps is the square icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the tablet's application menu.

    NOTE 2: If you have not yet installed the application, it will go to Android Market to download the application you need to use since it is a 3rd party application. Download and then you can go back to accessibility.
