    How do I quickly turn off ringtone and turn on vibrate on this phone?
    To quickly turn the ring tone off and turn vibrate on, please press the VOLUME DOWN button on the handset until it vibrates.

    How do I set MP3 as an alarm sound?
    To set your own music file as alarm sound, please use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the microSD card on your phone from the computer and be able to copy music onto the microSD card.

    Please go to My computer and open the new removable disk; create a folder on the root folder of the microSD card and name it alarms, copy your desired MP3 files to this folder. Any song or MP3 file that you put on the ringtones folder will be added on to the list of available alarms on the handset.

    After you have finished copying, turn off USB storage by pressing MENU on the home screen > Notifications > Disk drive > Charge only.

    The Alarm clock will automatically search this folder for personalized alarm tones and when you create an alarm or a calendar entry, the MP3 file will be on the list of available alarms.

    NOTE 1: During this time, you can’t access the SD card from your phone, so you can’t use applications that rely on the SD card such as Camera, Gallery, or Music.

    NOTE 2: The MP3s that you put under the alarms folder will not be seen under the music player application.

    Can I send multiple photos through Bluetooth?
    Yes, the handset supports sending multiple photos through Bluetooth. Please press All apps > Gallery > All photos > Share > Bluetooth > put a check on the photos that you want to send > Next > turn on Bluetooth if not turned on OK > tap on a paired device or Scan for devices if sending to a device that is not yet paired.

    How do I set a ring tone for a particular contact?
    To set a ring tone for a particular contact, please press All apps > People > tap the contact that you want to assign a specific ring tone and tap Ringtone > choose the ring tone you want to assign to the contact and tap OK.

    What version of HTC Sync do I use?
    Your phone is compatible with up to HTC Sync version 3.0.5422; while backwards compatibility is always considered, we recommend you always use the latest version compatible with your phone.

    You can download this program at our website, under the support section. You will also find a detailed guide of how to use HTC Sync there.

    Some regions will have this program in the microSD card that shipped with the phone, however, this availability varies by region.

    How do I turn on my 3G connection?
    To turn on 3G connection, press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > put a check on Mobile network.

    To turn it off, press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks > remove the check on Mobile network.

    NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    NOTE 2: This function requires GPRS/3G in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life.

    How do I use GPS on my phone?
    In order for you to use GPS on your phone in applications such as Footprints and Google Maps, please turn on GPS first. Please press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Location > Use GPS satellites.

    Remember that you must be using a program that enables the GPS functionality like Locations, Footprints or Google Maps. If you are having trouble connecting to a GPS satellite, try the following to see if you can help.

    1. Make sure that Use wireless networks is checked in the settings menu located at MENU > Settings > Location > Use wireless networks. 2. Make sure you have a clear unobstructed view of the sky. Things such as ceilings, roofs, and weather may affect GPS performance. 3. To achieve the best performance, try to place yourself in an area for there is a 360 degree view of the sky. Tall buildings and walls may slightly affect GPS performance.

    NOTE: Turning on this function may shorten the handset's battery life depending on the usage.

    Why can’t I use the Internet pass-through feature on my phone?
    There are several possible reasons for not being able to use Internet pass through:

    1. Please confirm on your computer the following: a. The Internet connection is active. You can go to http://www.htc.com to test this connection. b. The latest HTC Sync 3.0 version available for your phone. You can download this program at http://www.htc.com and then, under your model, download the application. c. The firewall you have installed on your computer may not allow for the Internet pass-through to work. Please check your firewall settings. d. If you are using 32bit Windows XP, please install the fix at KB959765 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959765. e. Currently Windows XP 32bits, Windows Vista 32 bits, Windows Vista 64bits, Windows 7 32 bits, and Windows 7 64 bits are all supported.

    How do I backup my phone?
    Your Google contacts, calendar and Gmail are automatically backed up to Google servers. In addition, this phone can log applications you downloaded from Android Market.

    Furthermore, if you set up your Google account when you first set up your phone, all your previous applications you've downloaded will be restored on your phone, as well as your Wi-Fi networks.

    NOTE 1: Resetting your handset to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory, please back up your files first.

    NOTE 2: For other information you want to back up like text messages or other emails, you can consult the Android Market for back up solutions.

    Scenes lets you choose from a selection of pre-defined widgets and arrangements that are suited towards work, leisure or any other arrangement you like Skins is a new way of customizing your HTC Sense experience.     How can I synchronize my handset to my computer?
    You can use HTC Sync to synchronize your data with a windows-based computer. Please download and install the latest version of HTC sync from our support website After the installation, please connect the handset to the computer with the supplied USB cable.

    Let the handset and computer install drivers and once it is done, you will be able to synchronize your data like music, pictures, documents, bookmarks, calendar entries and contacts.

    How can I set a lock for my phone?
    To setup a lock for your handset, please press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Security > Setup screen lock.

    You can choose from 3 types of lock; Pattern, PIN or Password. For pattern, you need to set an unlock pattern and draw it to unlock the handset. For pin, you can set a numeric combination of more than 4 but only up to 16 digits. For password, you can set an alpha numeric combination of more than 4 but only up to 16 digits.

    Once you have chosen the lock type, you need to enter your combination twice to set the lock. To disable the lock, please press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Security > Change screen lock > enter your combination > None.

    Can I use turn by turn navigation?
    Yes, turn by turn navigation is available on the handset, powered by Google and HTC's new Location service.

    There are several ways to use turn by turn navigation. It can be accessed through Google Maps. Please press All apps > Maps > Menu > Directions > and you will get a screen where you can put in your start and end point. You can manually put in an address on the start and end points and tap Go. The next screen will show the results with the turn by turn directions listed in words. Press Navigate to activate the turn by turn navigation with voice guidance. The start point usually contains My Location based on GPS and Internet data (Wi-Fi/3G). You can edit the start and end points by typing on the field, or you can also tap on the bookmark icons beside the start and end points to get options such as My current location, Contacts and Point on map which can easily help you put in the right destination. This function can also be accessed by tapping All apps > Navigation which will automatically give options on how you can input your end point or destination. The start point is automatically your current location based on GPS and Internet data (Wi-Fi/3G).

    You can also use Locations to purchase turn by turn navigation. Please press All apps > Locations > MENU > Upgrade > slide to the purchase navigation tab. On this screen, you can purchase navigation you want for your location or other available locations; it will have the price and can take the transaction directly on the same application. To use Navigation on locations, please press All apps > Locations > SEARCH or use a category under nearby and select your desired destination > Premium navigation. You may also access this feature directly from the car panel application. Please press All apps on the home screen > Car Panel > Navigation.

    How can I prevent the Internet from disconnecting while downloading?
    If you are constantly being interrupted while downloading, it may be an issue with your signal strength. Try moving from one place to another. You can prevent Internet from disconnecting while downloading if you are connected to Wi-Fi.

    Please press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > MENU > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy > Never.

    Traveling between over larger distances can sometimes also cause the Internet to be interrupted.

    How do I synchronize my phone with my Google account?
    Your phone is setup by default to automatically sync with your Google account, if you have set one up already. To setup a Google account, please press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Accounts & sync > choose Add Account > Select Google then tap Next > follow the onscreen instructions to enter the account information.

    If you don't want to synchronize automatically, press MENU on the home screen > Settings > Accounts & sync and then uncheck Background data and Auto-sync.

    NOTE 1: You need a valid Google account and an Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    Can I sync my Hotmail contacts to my phone?
    The handset only supports synchronizing with a Gmail account and you need to export your hotmail contacts to your Gmail account first and then sync the handset with your Gmail account. You may search for instructions on how you can export your contacts from your hotmail account and how to import the contacts to your Gmail account. You may also search for software that enables you to export your hotmail contacts to the handset automatically in Android Market. To search Android Market, please press All apps > Market. Search for the keyword transfer hotmail contacts and it will give the relevant results.

    NOTE 1: You need a Google account to login to Android Market.
