  1. Available storage is less due to phone software.
  2. Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
  3. NFC availability depends on the mobile operator and your location. Please check with your mobile operator.
  4. a) Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.

    b) A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.

Note: specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Breath of fresh air! I had a htc trophy over a year ago and i was very impressed with the windows phone software. The htc 8X really has taken all the good points from the previous windows phones and made them better. The camera is one of the best i have used on a mobile phone, it kicks the iPhones camera right into touch. The only problem is the lack of apps but hopefully this should sort itself out in time. I would recommend this phone to anyone as its so easy to use and safe for my daughter to have a go without changing any settings by accident! This is a major selling point for me! January 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Things need changing I've had loads of HTC phones and love them so when i upgraded to this new x8 i was hoping it be better then my one series. Don't get me wrong this phone is good but can be amazing. It's all about the contacts really cause its been turned into a computer and your forgetting that its still a phone. All your contacts are now in your hotmail account so now when you look to phone someone your email account come up and have NO opinion to give just show ones with phone number's on which is such a pain cause when you dual a number no contact comes up at all so to call someone you have to flick through untold email accounts to call someone. Plus you cant transfer contacts over, your email is your contacts, i lost a load of numbers this way cause i can't see who i haven't got as wont show me my contracts with just there phone number, htc one has all these options which makes a phone. The back button is a pain as well and there are hardly any apps yet. Apart from that is probably the best phone I've had. These changes are so small but make a big difference. Please try and sort many thanks January 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by HTC 8X I am glad I got this phone instead of the Nokia 920. With win8 this phone is really cool and can be customised to how you like it, I had the HTD HD7 but this is a lovely looking phone and feels the business. No gripes with the phone but like a lot of people on win8 I would like to keep Telephone contacts separate from Hotmail/Facebook contacts as it is not always easy to find the number your looking for, I have setup groups but this is not the way forward. HTC can you not design something that we could use to keep Telephone contacts separate? This phone is the bees knees... January 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best feeling smartphone I've ever held! I have had the HTC 8x for a while now and I can honestly say it's the best feeling and well put together smartphone I have ever had the pleasure of holding! The design of this phone is exquisite. HTC haven't missed a single detail and in my opinion it's the best looking smartphone available today. The tapered edges make the phone extremely comfortable to hold and it's easy to reach all corners of the screen. The screen itself is simply stunning, one of the sharpest available at 720p hd resolution. Colours are vibrant and pop. The camera is also amazing. Compared to my girlfriends iphone it's much better. The camera also has a dedicated shutter button which allows quick and easy access to the camera. Sound is also awesome with integrated beats audio. One of the biggest plus points for me over previous smartphones is the excellent battery life. A single charge will easily last more than a day with heavy use in my experience. I really can't recommend this phone highly enough. I hope HTC carry this great design language forward into future smartphones. If your in the market for a new phone BUY IT. February 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Work in progress this one...but how much is HTC to blame?... Had the relatively impressive 8X since 18th Dec 2012. It's a "love it with all its flaws" situation for me. HTC make excellent mobiles but it seems that the Android handsets are far more polished than the Windows. To start with there is no stopwatch or countdown timer on this phone. Versions of these on Windows Store are so not ready for this Windows 8 beauty. Another odity with this phone is the inability to switch from front facing camera to rear facing camera during a Skype call. As far as the keyboard is concerned, why or why have HTC failed to include a numeric t9 keypad for typing emails, sms's etc? They do on their other devices!! The standard keyboard is rubbish as keys too close together. Otherwise great hardware including quality 341 pixels per inch for very very sharp screen resolution, nice size and lovely texture on back of handset. I think it is more a case of a developing Windows eco system rather than a hardware deficient issue that gives rise to the shortcomings I have mentioned above. I absolutely want the seamless integration of the Windows systems #emails, Xbox, Office docs, etc# but with the more accomplished hardware and software experience I had on the HTC Desire S Android phone prior to this 8X. Rated 4 out of 5 by Quietly brilliant, even with Beats Audio! I was a proud owner of one of the first Windows Phone 7 handsets, the HTC HD7. Having upgraded to the 8X this year, I'm finding HTC's flagship Windows Phone 8 handset an absolute joy to use. I've always snubbed the sheep that go for iPhones and the culture-less folk opting for Android, because I know that the Windows Phone OS beats the competition. The gorgeous, innovative interface brings live updates on things I care about in the form of Live Tiles, which can be customised to fit my mood. One of the improved Windows Phone features is being able to resize tiles, which makes the UI even more attractive and flexible. The social network integration is the best I've seen on a phone - you almost don't need an app for Facebook; everything is pretty much built into the OS! The Xbox LIVE integration is fantastic, giving me that extra Gamerscore and letting me control my Xbox using my phone. In terms of the handset itself, it's the most beautiful phone out there. Slim, soft and sexy, coming in a variety of colours. It's not all looks, though, for within lies a Beats amplifier that provides immense sound - listening to music is a great experience. Both cameras capture 1080p video and the front camera has a brilliant wide-angle feature that allows you to fit more people in! My only wish is that HTC had included an SD card slot to allow me to store music on it, as the phone is limited to only 16GB storage. And I don't have an iPod :p. A short review where I could talk endlessly about the qualities this phone possesses, but I encourage everyone to 'meet their match' and go for a Windows Phone, especially the HTC Windows Phone 8X. Rated 5 out of 5 by The new benchmark for Windows Phone 8 handsets The HTC 8X is my first step into the world of Windows after years of being an Android user. I have to start my review by talking about the actual hardware. The 8X is one of the most beautiful handsets I've ever seen. My California Blue model is absolutely gorgeous and is contoured to fit in the hand perfectly. I was surprised at how light the phone is and the quality of the workmanship and finish. With the exception of the sim insert tray the phone is a complete unibody design with drilled in speaker grills on the front and back of the handset. The screen is stunning, the display is better than the Iphone 5, colours are rich and the darker colours particularly black stand out. The wide angle front facing camera is definitely a winner, not only is the quality of shots exceptional for a front camera particularly in natural light but the camera captures twice as much as a standard front facing camera making family portraits a breeze. The rear camera is also of a good standard if there is to be a criticism it would be that the camera functionality lacks some of the basic settings available on the HTC One Series handsets. As soon as these are added it will compliment perfectly the high quality rear lense. The Beats Experience is what you expect but where the 8X really excels is the quality of sound from the phone speakers when you're not using Beats Enabled Headphones. The quality is the best I have heard on a mobile phone. The phone performs really well in terms of speed, switching between applications and general scrolling. The built in web experience is excellent with the Internet Explorer browser and pages load faster than on my Android devices. I do miss the lack of a FM radio but I hope this can be rectified in a future software upgrade. The app marketplace is beginning to expand and there are some good apps available but still lacking the choice available on Android or iOS. The Windows People Hub and Live Tiles are a great feature and the operating platform is a lot more user friendly and interesting than alternatives on the market. If you're an Xbox user than the 8X creates some great compelling options to connect up your devices. Microsoft Office functionality is also much welcomed and a feature you will definitely use. Skydrive integration is brilliant and for the first time ever I am really using cloud storage, its simple, works in the background and requires very little set up. Battery life has been surprisingly good, the phone gets me through a full day without a need for recharging and I am a fairly heavy user of data and am constantly switching the screen on to use apps. The battery life is definitely better than that on my Android device. Overall I would definitely recommend the HTC 8X to anyone looking to upgrade. You get a stunning handset which feels great in the hand and is powerful and nippy when you use it. Be prepared for all and sundry to want to handle and play with the device it is definitely a crowd pleaser and easy on the eye!The build quality is better than anything on the market and you get an amazing camera experience especially if you're a heavy user of Skype or Video Calling. The minor gripes I do have are more software and platform related and easily fixed as more apps come online in the marketplace. The 16gb storage is adequate for my current needs but I do think it would be useful to have the handset available in 32gb and 64gb formats especially as memory is not expandable. A big thumbs up for the HTC 8X which marks a definite return to form for HTC. January 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A beautifully crafted phone, with immense potential I received my HTC 8X in blue. The phone looks visually stunning, far better than its 8S counterpart with its two-tone frontage. The phone feels great to hold and the screen is very clear, even in direct sunlight. It is easy to operate, although personally I would prefer the power button to be on the left, and where it is so flush (aesthetics rule on this beast), it sometimes takes two or three attempts to get it to switch on. I was hoping for great things with the cameras. The front-facing camera certainly is super-wide angle, but I was left wanting on the quality of some shots from the main camera when compared to the HTC One X or even my old Sensation. It just seems a bit off focus sometimes. But I do have a proper camera for any "posh" shots I need to take. The battery life is phenomenal. The first two charges were as expected, less than a day, then suddenly the battery life shot up and I can easily get almost two days out of a charge if I needm and that is with WiFi and Bluetooth enabled. The phone is very powerful and deals quite happily with jumping from email to web to twitter to Business apps. I will not comment on the Operating System here, suffice to say the jury is well and truly out after being on Android, but in terms of a beautiful phone for everyday business and personal use, the 8X has not disappointed.
