I got this phone 1 week ago, it has good design, good battery life, it's kinda hard to get used to it after android but it's not too hard.
So pros are.
Good integrated people hub
Not enough memory and other folder ate 1GB of memory already
Can't install apps in SD card
Camera could be better at night
Beats audio doesn't work on web

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Kylline Overall, it is a steal for its price!
For a handset with this quality and new platform, I can consider this a steal for its price as compared to other W8 phones. Sure, HTC 8s has good and bad sides to it but for me, the good outweighs the bad. I am satisfied with this handset.
1. Crisp screen - It was not an AMOLED but it didn't fail me on the colors and outdoor quality. Pixels are noticeable if you're very keen but otherwise, it won't be a big deal.
2. Design is classy - Depending on the handset color that you get, the design is not cheap looking at all.
3. Windows 8 performs fast on it.
4. Good Bluetooth connectivity and antenna reception.
5. Keyboard is responsive and large enough.
6. Very affordable in comparison to other Windows handsets of almost the same specifications.
1. Phone volume is a bit softer than the other handsets I used.
2. Battery depletes faster than I expected. - Probably because of the screen and the haptic feedback on the windows key. A full charge can get me to 2 days if I will only use the phone on texts and a few calls (no media and browser).
3. Yellow tints on camera shots with flash.
4. Very few accessories available on the market.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Amit261988 Nice if you neglect the internal memory storage limit
The phone is amazing as far as the looks, the sound quality and the interface is concerned, But i believe the more important is the available memory for downloading the Apps,
This is the only draw back which brings it to a lower ranking,
We really need latest firmware launch, so that we can download the apps to the SD card otherwise there is no use of the expandable external memory.
You should really work on this, As if you would be successful, i will rank it as the best Windows phone in the market.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Jellyfish Casing gets dirty!
The phone struck me with its design so it was emotionally the only choise! But further investigation of WP8 operating system was quite diappointing. Many features normal to non-smartphones are missing here (like call summary, data plan usage, sending sms to a non-contact number etc.). I would even say WP8 is well primitive. But still very beautiful interface when compared to android... The harware biggest issue is rubber coating getting dirty on corners within days and not possible to clean at all. The only hope that HTC will withdraw the phones and change the brightly colored yet badly designed cover. Please give us HTC design freaks a new lasting cover!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Nishank VERY BAD STORAGE.
Sorry for the bad English . i am using this phone since a 10 days.
the main drawback is phone storage because of this i had formatted my phone for 2 times , and i think HTC should solve this problem and they should create some htc apps in the htc store as Nokia got so many games .

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Barbra Good phone, but very poor memory.
Had this phone for 6weeks. Love the windows 8 feature with it's ease of use. However, the phone storage is very poor, I've set everything I can to store on the SD card but the phone memory seems to drop every week. I deleted apps I've installed, even deleted photos on the SD card and Sky drive thinking these may be effecting the memory. If ever there is a phone update I think my phone will crash I only have 706MB left!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by techstro verry good phone - phone internal storage
This is a great phone, i just love it. With this phone i discovered Beats Audio wich sounds great.
HTC 8S is a great phone overall, in almost all ways you would think about.
But i really dont understand why so less storage memory, atleast you should let apps get installed on sd card.
If i didnt had this storage problem i would give 5 stars for a great product.
I am becoming HTC "fanboy" :)

I am very dissapointed. I bought HTC 8s 1 month ago. Till now probably more than 15 times the phone is frozen/hanged. I don't know what is a problem: the hardware or software?

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Engineer Nokia Lumia 620 beats it !
I own 8S right now; comparing it with Nokia Lumia 620, lumia simply beats it easily due to huge range of apps + GPS navigation with voice + nokia city lens + larger internal memory, which is 8 GB while HTC is only 4 GB. 8S in fact doesn't have much apps as lumia does, the GPS is terrible on 8S, on the other hand, in Lumia, it is excellent; extremely accruate, smooth and user friendly. Lumia has also a secondary camera.
I have tried the Lumia, and I regret that I bought the 8S, since both phones have the same price !
Other than the above complaints, HTC is perfect especially the beats technology, the long battery life, and the larger screen. Please, more applications have to be issued for 8S.
I hope that HTC 8S developers would provide more useful updates that would boost the 8S to go into competition with the Lumia !

Certainly the best phone I ever had, but internal memory is too small even if you have a memory card.

A great all round phone. Fast, easy to use and stylish.
And on contract for £11 per month, great quality comes cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Phoneuser FANTASTIC phone BUT be warned!
Having never really got on that well with Android and I would rather have two paper cups and some string than an I phone! Windows 8 seemed a logical step.
I am not disappointed the phone has a great interface which is easily customable to my choice of tiles. The movement of contacts was simplicity itself easiest I have ever moved contacts to a new phone. Adding photos or music is just like using a memory device you can create new folders delete old ones - just so easy! Or you can just use the camera. Best of all it makes and receives calls and texts which is really what a phone is for. It looks a million dollars it’s nice and light if I had to sum this phone up in one sound bite “It just works
BE WARNED a lot said about the memory on this phone I have over a gigabyte of memory left but I do not do lots of apps and toys so if this is your thing this could be filled pretty quickly so this phone may not be the best choice for you. I have added a 16gig memory card which is plenty for my pictures and movies it would appear you cannot tell the phone where to put the apps so I imagine everyone is correct and you cannot add apps to the memory card.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by narked Perfect all-rounder phone
The phone is not the best out there, but for the price you get an excellent package.
The design of the phone is phenomenal, build quality is fantastic and the size is just right. I like a lot of things in this phone and only have some minor issues with it. I'd appreciate a slightly sharper Camera, and currently there is a small WinPhone8 bug related to storage (this however should be fixed).

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Viktor2510 Great phone.
For me it is a very good phone. it's quite cheap so it was obvious to me that some things on this phone will be a little worse than those on very expencive ones. The only problem to me is that there is not enough apps and games, but I'm sure that some of them will come out soon. :)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by horizon Great phone.
I rated this phone as a mid-class phone, in wich is absolutely the best you can have. If you use it wisely, you'll have no problems with low memory. Although I hope HTC will release a cache cleaner as Nokia did. I've had no problems with this phone whatsoever, and as a budget phone, I reccomend it.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by griltig Great phone
I wanted a spare inexpensive windows 8 phone and initially chose the Nokia Lumia 620. Used it for one day but the battery life was just awful.
Opted for this and yes I was aware of the internal storage shortage but I'm not a heavy app or game fan so I won't find it a problem.
I want to play lots of music and with the SD slot there is no concern there (although spotify appears to only save offline tracks to the phone memory).
Easy to use, looks great, fits nicely in the hand and feels really thin.
I'd recommend it and if HTC can change the storage options in future updates then you don't need anything else where windows 8 is concerned.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by zxzqz Fixed my low memory.. - Try a factory reset (its surprisingly painless)
Had the same problem with not enough memory for apps and problems with internet explorer crashing. Finally did a factory reset - which was very smooth and easy. Didnt need to connect to my PC and all apps/settings etc were reinstalled for me over the air. Only thing I had to do was relayout my home screen tiles. Now I have about an extra 700mb of space and I was able to install a load of new apps. Now have all the apps I want installed (which is a fair number) and still 4-500mb free to store app data that cant go on the SD card like podcasts etc. They do still need to fix the issue of not being able to run apps from the sd card and also not allowing apps to save data to the sd card (pain for podcasts), but I am very happy for now! Not sure if I had some large app or file lurking somewhere that I had forgotten about but try doing a factory reset - might work!
The coating has started to peel a bit near the usb port though can get over it as the underneath actually looks nicer as its a brighter blue colour that matches the buttons.
Sound quality and network signal are superb. Everyone comments on how slim and light it is. Battery life is actually also pretty good and easily gets me through a day even with reasonable data use. Feels very strong and sturdy despite not being metal.
Generally I love this phone! Couple of things that an iphone can do that this cant - but very few, couple of issues re the SD card but cant really think of much else. And all at less than half the price of a 16gb iphone !

The 8s is a nice & budget friendly smartphone, BUT it has a serious memory problem: using it for two weeks with 15 apps and memory is full. Impossible to install OS updates and it regularly reboots while browsing...

Rated 5 out of 5Â by dazza161 Awesome Phone
I have had the HTC 8s for 2 weeks, have to say its the best phone yet. Quality and well put together also easy to use and quite fast. awesome quality camera and screen to show pics off with, and also a nice bassy little speaker (Beats only works with external speakers or headphones, but still awesome sound quality). The only problem so far is myself!!! for not realizing it was a micro sim, trying to find a slot for ages to put a normal sim in!

the 8s is a great headset, beautiful design, easy to use, infinite battery life.
i have only 1 bad thing to say and its about the poor task manager options.
other than that, for my opinion, its the best phone you can get at this price, no doubt.

Just bought this phone because in my opinion it is as good a phone as the 8X purely because of the price difference. As a new window phone user I am still learning how fully how to use the devise but am generally pleased with the phone. The 1 GHZ processor doesn't seem to struggle with apps and is a very smooth phone to use.
One problem is the messages. You don't get an icon informing you that your message has been read or delivered like you do with apple or android.
