Rated 4 out of 5 A good all round phone but far from perfect Windows phone 8 is very nice to use and with Skydrive, I am able to sync all my computer documents with my phone and even edit them with the built in microsoft office. My only problem with the phone is the apps; the store is not as well stocked as other operating systems stores and then when you do download them you can't store them, the phone only comes with 4gb internal memory and then when you do put in an external memory card you are unable to store apps on it which is a bit of a letdown really. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Windows phone on a budget Beautifully designed, fantastic screen size and good graphics. Perhaps not as incredible as higher-end handsets but great for teenagers, etc. Windows 8 has a way to go, but its already far better in design than Android and in my opinion, sleeker than iOS. Bummers: screen has tendency to scratch- get a protector!; can get a little slow due to smallish RAM; not amazing app selection, but is improving every day. February 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome Device! Got this device for Christmas and had no problems what so ever! Love the device, would recommend this to anyone switching to windows phone, bearing in mind i've used iOS and Android before. Many lovely features, good performance, great camera, easy to use, light, easy to hold, if you are looking for a great smartphone, look no further! February 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible phone - avoid! Low storage, very very difficult to use micro SD card. Coming from a HTC with android this is a very frustrating and disappointing phone. February 15, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good htc bad software. Htc's effort on the hardware of this phone is great. However the 'other' section under the phones storage constantly grows an grows for no apparent reason. Without installing any extra apps etc it grows until it fills your phone. People are upset their having to reset their phone often. February 18, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by 512mb ram and no memory No memory for apps cant store apps on memory card and if you have less than 1gb ram the good apps dont work this as 512mb ram waste of money. wish i knew this before buying this product. February 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by If only If only you hadn't introduced the very flawed idea of just including 4GB or memory. I assumed that the expansion slot would resolve this but the software doesn't allow apps to run from the SD card nor can you move the cache folder (also known as "other) to the SD card. The only way to clear the cache is by doing a hard reset with all associated work such as backing up and restoring from back up only to find that start screen doesn't get backed up and so have to start organising that again... I just had to do that as the 1.15GB "other" took up meant couldn't do the OS upgrade :-( All-in-all, a simple upgrade took me hours to complete!!!!! This makes the phone unworkable for any normal smart-phone use that is not very technical! If I was I would have bought an Android... Unless using solely for calls and texting - DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!! March 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Win phone 8 disappoints This is the 3rd HTC and windows phone for me and even if the phone itself is very nice and has no problems, windows 8 make it very bad.. since it's my 3rd windows phone you understand that I used to be very happy with the previous versions (never had win 7.xx though) Just to make you a list: Can't sync with Outlook anymore, you HAVE to move everything contacts and calendar to Windows Live and sync from there.. by the way Task are not supported neither the contact pics from outlook transfer to windows live. And the very important "File As" field has now disappeared you have to choose how to short the all contacts and not individually like on older versions and like outlook. Some people I remember by last name some by first and some others by their Company/Profession and I used to sort them accordingly and it was supported and synced with outlook and Win Phone 6.xx and older versions. Now my contacts are a mess. If you are planning on buying a large microSD to take advantage of it for extra space think again. You can only store pics videos and music on it.. You can't install there apps like on previous win phones neither documents. The core files are not visible there is no file browser and when you connect with usb to a PC you still can't see system files. So if you put files to the sd card you can't open them.. Alarm.. some people complained for the other windows 8 phones it's too loud and you can't adjust the alarm volume no matter what you do to the phone volume setting, this is true but for me the alarm sound is very low, very very low! There is no way someone can wake up with this alarm! And you can't have vibration and alarm sound at the same time you have to choose vibration or sound not both! There is too much effort to make graphics and appearances but Microsoft missed the point first it maters how well it works and how easy it is to set up everything then how nice it looks to play with the touch screen. I still haven't found a way to sync favorites from my PC internet explorer to the phone! There are some ways but you have to make a SkyDrive folder for your favorites and sync from there blah blah blah.. It's 2 windows machines both using internet explorer connected with usb! Just sync them! My sister has win 7 and office 10 at her PC and can sync contacts (with their pics) calendars, favorites and more to an iPhone just by plugging the usb and ticking on some boxes with the respective group in iTunes why Microsoft can't support properly its own products and make them sync properly in a simple step?! I wish I could return it I am very disappointed everything that was important for me and used to work perfectly on my previous 2 HTC/Win phones is not there anymore... and none of the above problems is due to HTC or the phone hardware! It's all Microsoft! If you haven't had a windows phone before you won't see the problems neither you'll be disappointed by your experience because eby changing platform you expect some trouble! But if you had win phone before especially an older 6.xx you'll be very frustrated with win 8 phone. I think it's time to switch for me.. no more windows phones.. Some other general remarks up to 720p videos it's all good but 1080p will not play properly, expected due to the somewhat slow processor. Camera led is nice and bright! But on low light sometimes even on bright light it's a bit slow to take the picture. January 6, 2013
