Was excited about the prospect of getting the SG3 but after looking and playing with the OXL, I'm glad I went with the latter.
The OXL feels really nice to hold and the interface is great. The screen quality is brilliant and the sound exceptional. The only 2 items that can be improved is the batter life and the non-expandable memory (which are not deal breakers).
I'm not a tech geek or gadget person but this has really impressed me. Couple this with Telstra's 4G capabilities, it is the only real 'smarphone' around.

got over the iphone and had a funny feeling the 5 wouldnt be better so i decided between this or the galaxy, i am really happy with this phone. a lot more apps will come to android soon as we see a change in the market share so you will see a lot more apps from itunes to play store! one thing they need to rectify is the battery life fingers cross next update it will help!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by mackantos Well done HTC
This is my second 4G phone from HTC and I absolutely love it. It is better, faster, has stunning display, and is even lighter than EVO 3D and Titan 4G. The only two problems that I have with this phone, the first is the absence of dedicated camera button, it would have made taking pictures much easier than actually pressing the button on screen (this is much harder when taking self portrait using the main camera) and the second is the battery (there is nothing wrong with it, but I would have loved it if I could swap batteries with another once in case i run out of it). Except these two problems the phone is great!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by AWESOMEphONEXL HTC ONE XL is simply awesome
This is one smart looking phone with the power and features to back it up. Feels great in the hand - light, thin and grippy. The redesign of some of the buttons from my old Desire HD have improved the ease of use aswell. Really like the recent apps button. I am not use to the headphone jack on the top of the phone yet and power button now moved on the right but this should come in time. The phone is fast and coupled with 4g (telstra) makes it great to use. Battery life is typical for a smart phone. The screen resolution, high colour saturation and slight bevel to the edge make it quite stunning to look at. It makes my old Desire HD screen look washed out and dull.
Will definately recommend.

this phone is perfect, since ive had it the only thing i had a problem with was the keyboard size, downloaded a different one off the market and problem solved. the battery life is much better than previous htc phones and the 4g and phone itself are blazingly fast. good for games and movies in bed.

I have had this phone since May-June, it is incredible, the sound quality is good, the cameras great, awesome speed, and crystal clear picture one the screen, and with 4G theres no stopping it faster than my S3 by miles and better quality... My only qualm is the battery life, but with an app all sorted, would be nice for interchangerble larger quantity batteries. NO BODY can go wrong with this piece of tech.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DarKim Great new toy!
Hubby & I both invested in a HTC One XL in November 2012 . Has some great features and some we have no idea how to use yet , hence the "new toy". We live in Rural NSW and can get service where our old phones didn't. Battery life can be average depending on what use at the time. Also, like most touch screens can be super sensitive #and frustrating# at times...but all in all it has superior speed and has taught the hubby how to text...Finally!! lol

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Austaurean Awesome!!!
I have had this phone for about 8 days now and find it totally awesome..
Battery: while most people complain about it and I can see why, it does last all day for me, no problems at all, but drains quickly under heavy use, but what phone this size doesnt..
i wish it had a removable battery, but i never replaced my last phones battery..
I usually put it on charge when i go to bed and when i wake during the night, i take it off charge, usually around 2 or 3am. it then goes all day and into the night till about 10pm and it still has 20% life left, i do turn functions on and off as and when i need them.. however, it should have come out with a 2500Mah at the very least so that continuous use wouldnt affect it too much, ie sat navigation or streaming music via blue tooth or taking pic or video. I am going to turn on wifi and bluetooth and push email and turn up screen brightness and see how it goes..
Size: It is a little hard to get used to the extra size of it, but i love every part of it.
Camera: The camera is sensational, a must for good instant snaps of my 18 month old and soon to be born lil one. havent used the video as yet
Storage: Like everyone, i wish it had removable storage. but whats available is enough for me. but if it dies, if it had a memory card i could easily take that out..
Accessories: Its a shame that there doesnt seem to be any accessories for Australia that use the 5 pins on the back of the phone and there are very few accessories for it.
Conclusion: all in all a very capable phone of which no one could ask for more than what this phone gives,

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DontBreakIt Best phone ive had yet..
I was originally converted to HTC when my friend recommended I get the HTC wildfire a few years ago, I've since decided to upgrade and went with the One XL not long after it came out, I've had no major problems with it when it comes to reliability for service in regional areas and use of features etc, although like we learn with majority smart phones the battery can be a bit of a pain, (I must admit that would be my fault, as being a teenager I rely on it way more than I should). I love the screen size, its fantastic ALTHOUGH, word of warning here, my screen did get smashed when it got knocked off my lap and cost me just a little over $200 to have it fixed.
After my screen breaking my phone also became very slow to unlock and respond to things, but was quickly fixed once I took the updates off apps I don't use.
Apart from a few hiccups, overall I love the HTC one XL best investment I've made

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Deids Love my HTC OneXL
I am so happy with my HTC One XL. I had always been a Nokia user and had tried other brands but always went back to a Nokia. As I am of the older age group user I am always looking for a product that is easy to understand & adapt to even though I am quite a confident user to most phones, but the my HTC OneXL has been one of the best investments I made. If it had not been for a family friend having a HTC OneXL & the Telstra rep which I do all our phone deals over the phone I may have reverted to another Nokia. His wife now also a HTC user and soon to follow will be my husband whom has been a long term Nokia user, so WELL DONE HTC!!! ...& with your new HTC One..

I've had the phone since December 2012. I've changed the sim card over and have now sent the phone away to be repaired. Problem being the sim card recognition is faulty. After rebooting the phone twice to restored factory settings and replacing the sim card it still does not work. I am over it.

I have owned the HTC Legend before and I absoultely loved the phone and the battery life was fantastic and the phone was easy to use. I know own the HTC One XL and everything started out alright but the battery seems to fade within 2 hours, the phone network is usally poor, programs muck up and there are a lot of glitches for a phone with such a high expectation with performance

I've had this phone for a year now and can say it has performed wonderfully from brand new.
The screen is absolutely beautiful to look at and the phone is very well made...keeps on working even though I've accidentally dropped it a few times!
Call clarity is amazing, especially when calling other HTC One XL phones my friends and family use. It's like being in the same room. Highly recommended for anyone who want a great phone at a very affordable price point.

This phone has great Features, the camera does exactly what you want/need it to, even if your flat on battery you can keep taking pics ( A feature nearly every phone does not include)
The durability of the Htc One is more than expected, and the size of the screen is massive, the apps and performance of opening several apps is beyond the greatest i have had the enjoyment of having and experiencing .
If you want the best phone created this will have to be it. Just an amazing and a fantastic experience in a phone. Give it a shot you will not regret

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JTaverna The Best Phone.
Words simply can't describe how much I love this phone!! I was tossing up between the Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One X/XL and HTC Titan 4G. And believe me, this is the best!! Samsung Galaxy S3 Has nothing on the HTC One XL! SGS3 is too an incredible phone, but after doing testing comparing this powerhouse, It's not even close. The main thing that appealed to me about SGS3 was 'S-Voice,' but after some testing, I'm afraid to say that the siri copied voice control application failed to impress me. It's nothing like Siri, and I was very disappointed in its result. I honestly couldn't find any difference between the HTC One X and The HTC One XL. However I was talking to my local Telstra workers, and they have explained to me that the reason why the XL is faster than the X at general things is because the Tegra 3 Processor is built for computers. And the processing chip has not taken into consideration, general work on a phone. Whereas the Dual-Core snapdragon processing chip has. So in my opinion, The Dual-Core defeats the Quad-Core. And Yes, I play a lot of games, use the camera a lot, etc. And at all of these things, Tegra 3 just can't match up to HTC One XL's Dual-Core Chip. The HTC One XL also has 4G, so that also gives it an edge over the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Meaning that from now on, all 3G phones including the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3, are falling behind. And are classed as 'Past Technology' Other than the processing chip, and colour of the device, the phone's are the exact same. So in my opinion, HTC One XL beats HTC One X. Not saying that HTC One X is a bad phone however. And as for the HTC Titan 4G, yes, the 16mp camera is amazing! But it ends there. All up I highly recommend this device, it's amazing! And definitely, The One For Me.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by JOSENZAU Good features, poor battery
Better then the iRubbish but if I use it for work I will lose business after 1PM when the battery usually dies & my clients can't get to me. I had used an HTC for work a few years ago & had to change because the battery life was really poor. Moved to the iPhone 4s, missed the features but at least it lasted all day. Back to the HTC One XL & while the speed and features are really good, the battery life is rubbish & I'm very disappointed that I can't change it either.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Benjamin The King of 4G handsets
Before I begin, I must confess that within the last year alone I have been the owner of an iPhone 4, a Galaxy Nexus as well as the new HTC One XL. I have had the best of both worlds, iOS and Android and I personally know the pros and cons of each first hand. The HTC One XL is the pick of the bunch.
Exclusive to Telstra on contract in Australia, the LTE-equipped, dual-core smartphone is easily the definitive 4G handset to own.
The first thing you notice about the One XL is just how responsive the UI is. HTC Sense is, by far, the smoothest interface slapped onto an Android OS. High Definition video is crisp on the 720p display. Images are vibrant, battery life on moderate usage is very commendable. The enabled download and browsing speeds are through the roof and any comparisons to 3G phones on rival networks are sure to blow their owners away.
In short - you know the specs, forget all other handsets. The HTC One XL is the best smartphone of 2012.

Rated 5 out of 5 HTC has set the benchmark
This is a future proof phone, and as of today the best phone in the market. Hats off to HTC team! I got the phone yesterday and believe me its hard to stay away from it. People looking for more than an iPhone and not as big as tablet, this is the right choice. I am not an expert in comparison but with my little bit tech interest have compared samsung S3 and iphone 4S with HTC One XL and this is class apart. I just couldn't refrain myself from saying thanks to HTC. And if you are lucky to be on 4G network this phone was just zipping at 20mbps. Rendering and UI experience is much better than Samsung S3 - its hard to explain but it feels much more like 'smooth flying'.

Got this device with Telstra on their 4G network and its blazing fast. Superb design great quality products. Gorilla glass on it! No neeed for screen protector, I have failed to scratch it. Battery is great, it gets better after a week of conditioning it so dont judge it in the first week or so, the life improves! Top notch cam and loving NFC as it automates my tasks with NFc tags all around my house nd car e.g one beside my behind, if you touch the One XL on it it launches internet radio, dims brightness and sets phone to vibrate. You can program the tags to wateva u want so NFC is a great feature on this phone. Phone is not bulky perfect size nd display resolution, eye candy

Rated 5 out of 5Â by elamberdor I made the move to Android on this phone, I think I made a good choice
I loved my Iphone but software updates corrupted it, and I chose this over the Samsung at the time because the initial interface seemed quicker to get to what I needed, I’ve had my One XL for 6 months now.
I like how easy it is to remove, move around & add widgets to the home screens, as well as see all the files on the phone like a disk drive and be able to add delete what I like without synching or using programs.
What I like most about the move to this phone is having more control over my battery life:
- being able to toggle wifi, internet and Bluetooth connection from a widget on my home screen, instead of having to head 3-4 screens into my settings.
- I can go into the task manager and stop all tasks, and it has a measure of how much space I’m saving right there when I do so.
- And a main screen button to remove the list of recent apps with a swipe every now and then.
When I moved from using the standard Internet browser to Dolphin, the speeds picked up and its a good phone to browse the net on, much faster than the facebook app.
Spontaneous camera shots sometimes come out blurry, still trying to find a happy medium without needing to be really still to take shots, user error maybe
Every now and then frames of the panorama camera get skipped no matter how slow you go, which results in some pretty interesting images when stitched together...
But overall I’m really happy with the quality of the images from the camera, nice colours and the HD setting comes out pretty nice.
Still learning to get around that keyboard better, the Microphone icon might not be in the best position next to the comma, as a few of us have noted, as it tries to connect you to the internet each time its hit.
Managing my internet data is really easy too, where you can set limits and the phone will tell you when you’re near it, which is great to compare against your service provider to make sure they aren’t too far off (or over) the mark.
I like the Beats Audio setting and the music folder detecting albums on your phone right away to play is a bonus too.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my move :)
