Rated 3 out of 5Â by qwertyuiop Consider you don't have a camera
Overall not a bad phone considering the price. The biggest disappointment (although expected ) is the camera. It takes low quality images . Besides that the phone comes with a full range of features in a nice body. Web browsing is great (Full Flash support)
I got mine for 120 US dollars new so for this price range it's a winner.

A Brilliant star in HTC line up, cannot be less than any other high budgeted phone, works awesome while streaming live videos whereas similar products could not stream due to flash player issues.
HTC is HTC.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Hamzazahidawan1 best mobile , and is worth its value! :D
after a 2 month experience with htc explorer , i got to say this works just like a high-end phone , with sub-par gaming graphics with stunning hd gaming and every thing ,,, but the battery life is really poor and camera is nothing ,but who needs a camera! if just camera was 5 megapixel this would be the best phone , its definetly better than my wildfire s in performance but htc plz dont put such a dirty camera unit in it ,beside that i recommend this to youth and the ones with low budget ,, why buy a dumb phone when you can buy this!!! :D

Rated 4 out of 5Â by AndrasV Best entry level Droid
It was the best choice for me as the first Android powered device. Bulid quality and performance is very good.
The only downside is the small internal memory.
I don`t know why so many are complaining about the battery. With heavy usage I can get a little bit more than a day. Normally my battery drains after 2 days.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Nischay HTC Explorer: Horrible phone
htc explore. most horrible phone.thpical htc glitches. people who review say that it is amazing, excellent performance with a 600 mhz processor. true, but some of the most basic things are problematic, drive you mad. i almost destroyed my phone once. the screen is glitchy, the touch sensor goes haywire most of the time, keypad doesn't allow you to type, types random characters by itself. most annoying thing, the screen does not allow regular slide functions, touch sensors get mis-calibrated, i touch on an icon, etc. something else is selected.
the phone does no allow installation of some select apps like facebook, whatsapp, etc. also the mos disgusting thing is it doesn't allow a the software to update. all this simply because the stupid fact that due to some useless godforsaken pre-installed apps that can't be deleted or moved, there isn't enough memory for apps to be downloaded. if those pre-loaded apps are updated, the sick phone is left with less than 1mb of internal memory, becomes unable to recieve text messages or even all content to be typed in the text field.
by far, the most annoying, horrible android phone.
kindly fix, repair. ASAP.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by mlaferla Great phone, needed a more durable battery though
I have been trying to get hold of an htc phone for quite some time now. I have been developing apps for android, and got to know the internal structure behind the OS used through development. I got the explorer since I found it at a bargain price, and I can say that I am not at all disappointed with the result.
It has a wonderful display and a definitely good camera, when compared to the price. Once you as a user get hold of the gingerbread UI (took me a day or two of experimentation), you will surely love this phone.
The web experience and app availabilty are nothing short of amazing. You can add bookmarks and target them to anywhere on the phone. Most of the apps on google play are also compatible with the phone.
The only downside of this phone for me was the battery. It would last two days with regular usage, and switching it off during the nights. But for the ones who need wifi coverage for most of the time, and are constantly using the mobile phone, it will barely last till the end of the day.

Rated 4 out of 5 HTC Explorer - The Excellent Budget Smartphone!
The phone is quite awesome. It has really great features but is missing out on some things. The camera can take some good snaps in bright sunlight, if I could upload a picture I would show you one that I took at around eight in the morning, although when you zoom in the pictures look cold and lifeless, the camcorder is quite poor indeed and there is neither auto focus nor flash in the camera. They're aren't many impressive productivity related apps in the HTC Hub for the HTC Explorer. The processor might be a bit slow for 3D games like GTA and Need for Speed, but you can get some decent games for this phone, like Shadowgun and Samurai 2: Vengeance.
In my experience the phone did not lag, until or unless I opened a lot of apps in the background, but you can easily close them from the Task Manager. The phone's back is made of rubber which gives you a good grip. The phone gives you a rich web experience, which I appreciate.
The durability is good, the messaging experience is good, although they could have made the keyboard a little better. I heard that Sense 3.6 upgrade is eventually coming out for HTC Explorer, is it true? It says so in Wikipedia.
I recommend the phone if your on a tight budget, or if you don't want a really fancy phone.
By the way, I would recommend buying an HTC One V, if you want a fancy phone, it is quite affordable.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Shagun Very "Smart"phone
Great smartphone would suggest to anyone, it has great features-unique from other phones such as transfer data from old phone(sms, events, contacts!), easy PC connectivity, multitasking inspite of 600 MHz processor and much more...
it is very user friendly... has a great design, very stylish & sexy :P... with a good feel to it and it performs great but i must say it would be great if HTC had more internal space. Some unwanted preinstalled apps cannot be deleted or moved.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by fran RECESSION VERSION OF HTC WILDFIRE (MINUS THE GOOD CAMERA)
A must have for all first time smartphone buyers. is a nice, well built, small pocket size, easy to use phone, however the bad thing I found with the HTC explorer it the battery life! I find myself charging it atleast four times in the space of two days ; ( P.S. IF you enjoy taking pictures I would suggest the HTC Wildfire but if you after Internet speed then EXPLORER is the one for you

Rated 4 out of 5Â by leah2012 It's a good phone
I love it do some of my homework on it, it's actually faster when using the internet than my laptop. The internal memory, together with a small battery life is a huge problem. The sound quality, whilst in a phone-call, Skype or other web calling apps is amazing & clear. Plus I must admit I have a bad experience with every other phone except this one - Drop any other phone & it's broken. This phone can't break when it falls and I'm amazed how tough the touchscreen is, withstanding scratches! It's the smartphone version of the old BLockias (Remember the old Nokia phones looked like blocks & never seemed to break after dropping them eh? (: ) It's perfect for a clumsy person aswell :D Any ways, in conclusion it's a cheap amazing smartphone, with the few blips as mentioned earlier. Buy it, it's a tough little cookie :D
-Btw, you have to download Adobe Flash player to view videos on the net.
