  1. Available storage is less due to phone software.
  2. Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
  3. NFC availability depends on the mobile operator and your location. Please check with your mobile operator.
  4. Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.
A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.

Note: Specifications are subject to change without prior notice

Rated 5 out of 5 Perfection This phone is perfect! I love it much............. December 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great improvement from Windows Phone 7 Made a bold step to start using HTC Trophy as my first smartphone. Was attracted my the fluidity of the windows mobile OS, made a slight switch to andriod to try out but found the OS complicated and laggy. Made the switch to HTC 8X and never regret ever since. So fluid and colourful - I recommend orange as the theme!!! December 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great phone, some niggles though Fantastic feel, good weight, lovely screen - but some issues that frustrate all the same: - lack of memory expansion capability - poor corner protection of glass .. lots and lots of people appear to have cracked screens from *very* minor knocks; gutted to have it happen to me 2 weeks into ownership (6" drop onto a table with a tablecloth)! - poor low light camera results - lack of quality HTC apps to match Nokia's output December 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Satisfying I'm a graphic designer. And I put a high standard on every review I made on mobile phones, whether on the outlook, the software, etc. I think 8X really is one of the best Windows Phone so far, and it's beautiful! Been using it for a week, satisfying. December 27, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lack of functions!! I am WP fans since WP7, was using Radar in the past. I feel so regret to 'upgrade' to X8 from my Radar. First, there are downgrade in camera functions, which in Radar I have Scene and Panorama built-in in camera, but is gone in X8!! Screen display brightness is too bright and high contrast, I was so proud with my previous Radar brilliant display, when turn to X8, the image display is so disappointed. Sound quality, another which X8 suppose to be proud of, yet is another disappointment to me, the Radar come with 'nothing' in sound system, yet perform much better high quality sound that X8, which is lack of BASS in sound with whatever earphone I tried! APPS is another problem with X8, no innovative, no new apps, no surprise! Other brand keep innovate their in house apps, provide free navigation software, yet HTC charge for its map's navi, keep with that few apps since WP7 age.. To me, I am still a WP fan, although my current phone is so... because I tried with N too, it preform excellent! If for me choose again, I will rather pay more for N. I used Touch Diamond II, Radar until now X8, only feel so frustrated with the latter. I really hope HTC will look into it, to avoid lose in your loyal customer like me. January 5, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 Died twice in the first month Got my 8X from a dealer on 27-Dec-12. Within the first week, the phone died and could not reboot. Went back to dealer who sent it back to service centre. The phone was returned to me in a week and found to be ok. The phone died AGAIN on 25-Jan-13 and cannot reboot. Very dissapointing January 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by I HEART THIS PHONE! I will just be reviewing the HTC Windows 8X phone itself (not the operating system) as its the phone itself that matters. What I love about the phone is the vivid colours, mine being California Blue! It sits well in my hand, its matte finish on the back gives some sort of an anti slip quality and the slim dimension of it completes the look of this beauty. The buttons are flush with the body as a plus point for aesthetic purposes. I had to feel my way around to get to the buttons in the first week of having this phone. However, a month later on, I have familiarise myself with the location of the buttons. I do have a gripe about the location of the micro USB charging port; as I try to activate the phone by pressing the power button by gripping the phone with my third and fourth figure on the top right edge of the phone, my thumb inevitably ends up in the middle of the bottom where the charging port is located. The edges around the port actually creates an uncomfortable feeling when my thumb pushes against it. I have to keep reminding myself to keep my thumb away from it. But of course, what I love most about the phone is its camera features. Its front ultra wide angle camera (back camera too) that makes photo taking a fun activity. Each time I whipped out the phone for a front shot with a group of friends, they can’t help but marvel at the screen which covers such a wide area, one that they have not seen on any other phone. Why fun? Cos most of the time we try to see how many people can we actually cramp into a shot! Overall it takes very crisp photos and does well under low light conditions. However, the Auto White Balance seems to need some tweaking as shots still appear with a yellow tinge under incandescent light even with the Auto White Balance on or even when the White Balance is set under incandescent lighting. The additional built in amplifier for Beats Audio does improve the sound through my audiophile headphones, it holds well at the highest level decibel without any distortion but I would have to say that end sound quality would also depend much on the quality of the song file itself. Unplugged, the phone’s speaker manage to deliver a wider and louder sound on its own albeit with far more treble as compared to bass, since Beats Audio only kicks in either with headphones plugged in or in car mode. Battery life is fanstastic with the HTC 8X, I get about two days worth of battery life on one charge. This is based on the phone being on standby 24/7 and with me doing some web browsing, calls making, photo taking for about an hour to two hours daily. Overall, it’s a great phone to own and use and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a change from the usual Android and IOS platforms. January 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Head Turner I am reviewing only the hardware, and not the OS, as the OS is almost totally regulated by Microsoft, and WP8 OS review here would basically give the same info as any other websites. Design, Build Quality and Ergonomics: The device is beautifully designed and there is no single day goes by without me staring at the device. It really is designed to blend with the Live Tiles and HTC has done a very good job doing so. Built quality is superb, there is no light leaks and the screen is perfectly flushed into the chassis, making it very sleek and seamless. The only complain I have is that the volume button can rattle. Ergonomic wise, I can handle the phone well with one hand. The device is cleverly designed with tapered sides, which makes it feel really thin. The lightweight of the phone helps in single handed operations, too. Nothing to complain in terms of shape and weight. The screen size is perfect for me. My only gripe is that the positioning and the flushed power button make it a little hard to operate it. Nothing serious. Camera hardware button is great and has nothing to complain about. Responds very well. Capacitive buttons give a good tactile respond, not vibrating too hard nor too soft. Display: It is gorgeous! Blacks are sufficiently dark. Sunlight legibility is good, if not great. It is sufficiently visible under bright tropical sunlight with medium brightness. Viewing angles, however, suffers if viewed from extreme angles, especially from the corner view. Have to be noted is that, these are really extreme angles, so daily usage will not be affected at all. Audio: I am a music lover, and my biggest concern about this phone was the audio quality. I am very accustomed to customisable graphical EQ, which I couldn't find in the WP Store. But, turns out that the standard audio output is great. Beats audio mostly amps up the volume, bass and treble, but does make a difference in audio experience. Speaker is amazing. It reproduces lows and highs quite nicely without distortions. I have never had a better audio speaker experience from a phone before. It drives most headphones without hiccups. Bottom line is I am not disappointed with the audio at all. It is the OS (WP8) which is kinda a let down for me as there is no custom EQ app at the moment. Camera: The wide angle and wide aperture main camera is inspiring for me. It takes great shots and although may not have the same performance like the PureView, is nothing to be looked down upon. In fact, it produces a very creamy bokeh and focuses faster than my nephew's Galaxy S3. It takes great macro shots as well. The front camera is out of this world! My expectations were surpassed! 1080p front videos is the world's first among smartphones (i think). Video calls were amazing. The only let down is the slight distortions around the edges, which is expected from a wide angle lens like this (remember, the focal length of the lens would be very small for the sensor size). My only complain is the sometimes slow focus in video. Oh, and maybe the absence of image stabilizer (software or hardware). All in all, the camera is a great performer, coupled with the responsive camera hardware button, which launches camera anytime. Very satisfied! Battery life: While the 1800mAh battery will get you through from clock in to clock out with moderate usage, the battery life is just slightly above good. There is really an issue with standby power drain. I have another HTC device running android, and the standby drain is about 1% for every 3-4 hours, with 3G turned on. But in this device, I am losing 1-2% in just an hour with 3G on. I am not sure why, but I suspect it is more like a software problem than hardware, because HTC's android phones with the same hardware have much better standby performance. That being said, I think that the battery performance is okay without being disappointing. In conclusion, the device is a work of art that turns head. All my colleagues are asking about it. People on the streets are staring at it. I have never had a more proud feeling in holding to a phone before. It may not have the hardware-extras like the Lumia, but unlike the Lumia, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is not a hardware pusher, but rather a workhorse, something that the Redmond people wants WP8 to be. It is more comfortable and more ergonomic. I am truly satisfied with what HTC has to offer with the 8X. January 30, 2013
