  • Q:What is Wi-Fi tethering?

    A:

    Wi-Fi tethering is sharing your Internet with other Wi-Fi capable devices. The handset will act as a wireless router that will broadcast a wireless network which can be picked up by Wi-Fi enabled devices. The handset will use it's data connection (3G/GPRS) for this function. Please be advised that your mobile operator may charge extra for data services.</p><p>To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, press MENU &gt; Settings &gt; Wireless &amp; networks. Please put a check on Portable Wi-Fi hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.</p><p>After configuring the settings, the handset will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to 8 devices. </p><p>To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.</p><p>If you have trouble finding the hotspot with your other device, you can try setting a specific channel to broadcast on. From the Home screen press MENU &gt; Settings &gt; Wireless &amp; Networks &gt; Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings. Ensure that the hotspot is turned off, then press MENU &gt; Advanced &gt; Wi-Fi Channel &gt; then select any channel. </p><p>NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.</p><p>NOTE 2: This function requires GPRS/3G in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet with a computer?

    A:

    You can share your mobile Internet to a computer via USB cable or Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot</p><p>To use a USB cable to share your Internet, please make sure that you have an active mobile data connection on the handset in order to use these function.</p><p>To share your Internet to a computer, please connect the handset to a computer using the supplied USB cable and make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, press MENU &gt; Settings &gt; Wireless &amp; networks. Please put a check on USB tethering. The handset will start sharing the Internet connection to the computer.</p><p>To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck USB tethering or simply disconnect the handset from the computer.</p><p>In order to share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen, press MENU &gt; Settings &gt; Wireless &amp; networks. Please put a check on Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.   • Q:Does the built in browser support Adobe Flash?

    A:

    Yes. The pre-installed browser in your handset supports Adobe Flash. The version at the time of launch was 10.1; for the current version, please check the android market.</p><p>NOTE 1: An Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service.   • Q:Can I use the flash when I shoot videos in dim lighting conditions?

    A:

    Yes. You can use the flash of the camera when you shoot videos under dim lighting conditions.</p><p>Please do the following to enable the flash when shooting videos:</p><p>From the home screen, press All apps &gt; Camcorder.</p><p>On the camcorder screen, tap the Flash icon and tap on.</p><p>NOTE: All apps is the triangle icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.

  • Q:How do I enable automatic updating for my applications?

    A:

    To enable automatic updating for the applications you have downloaded from the Android Market, please press on All apps on the home screen &gt; Market.</p><p>On the Android Market screen, press Menu &gt; Downloads.</p><p>This screen will show a list of applications that are currently installed on the handset.</p><p>Please choose the application you want to automatically update and tap it to open.</p><p>On the application description screen, put a check on allow automatic updating.</p><p>NOTE 1: All apps is the triangle icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.</p><p>NOTE 2: An Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service.   • Q:How do I find the IMEI of my phone?

    A:

    There are three ways you can find the IMEI on your handset.</p><p>1. Please press on Phone on the home screen and dial *#06#; this will automatically display the handset's IMEI.</p><p>2. You can get the IMEI and serial number of your handset by pressing MENU from the home screen &gt; Settings &gt; About phone &gt; Phone Identity.</p><p>3. Another way is by taking the back cover and battery out, the IMEI is printed on the sicker at the back of the handset.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet from my computer to my phone?

    A:

    Internet pass-through lets you share your computer's Internet connection to your handset.</p><p>To share your computer's Internet with your handset, please download the latest HTC Sync available for your phone. You can find the latest HTC Sync on http://www.htc.com. Simply click on Support &gt; Select your phone &gt; Downloads and click the most recent update of HTC Sync. At the time of release, the version is 3.0. </p><p>After you have installed HTC Sync successfully, please connect the handset to the computer via USB cable then drag the status bar down from the top of the screen. Choose Internet pass-through as the connection type. The handset will now be able to access the Internet through the computer's connection.</p><p>NOTE 1: Your computer must be connected to an Internet source in order to share the connection with your phone.</p><p>NOTE 2: If you have trouble using this feature, please see the below FAQ Why can’t I use the Internet pass-through feature on my phone? to see if that helps.

  • Q:How do I setup multiple numbers in a single contact?

    A:

    Please make sure that the contact is saved on either the phone memory or your Google account.</p><p>To setup multiple numbers in a single contact, please press All apps on the home screen &gt; People. Tap the connect that you wish to add details to and press MENU &gt; Edit. You can add a phone number by pressing Add below phone.</p><p>NOTE 1: All apps is the triangle icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.</p><p>NOTE 2: You can also add other details like email, postal address and more by tapping the add option on the corresponding detail.

  • Q:How do I setup a VPN connection on my phone?

    A:

    To setup a VPN connection, please press on MENU from the home screen &gt; Settings &gt; Wireless &amp; networks &gt; VPN settings &gt; Add VPN &gt; select a type of VPN you want to create then input the VPN Settings. Press MENU &gt; Save when you are finished.</p><p>NOTE 1: An Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service. Your operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.</p><p>NOTE 2: Please ask your IT administrator for your VPN settings.</p><p>NOTE 3: This function requires Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life.

  • Q:How do I set a ring tone for incoming calls?

    A:

    There are 2 ways to setup a ring tone for incoming calls.</p><p>1. Please press MENU on the home screen &gt; Settings &gt; Sound &gt; Phone Ringtone. Tap the ring tone you want to use on the list, and then tap OK.</p><p>2. You can also use MP3 as a ring tone. </p><p>There are two ways to import MP3s to your phone.</p><p>Option 1: please use the micro USB cable to connect the phone to a USB port on your computer. Choose Disk drive as the connection type. This will allow you to access the microSD card on your phone from the computer and be able to copy music onto the microSD card. Please go to My computer and open the new removable disk; copy the MP3 you want to set as a ring tone to the music folder; if there is no music folder, create a new folder on the root folder of the microSD card and name it music.</p><p>Option 2: You may use HTC Sync to sync MP3s to your phone. Please refer to HTC Sync How to for more information.</p><p>After you have finished copying, turn off USB storage by pressing MENU on the home screen &gt; Notifications &gt; Disk drive &gt; Charge only.</p><p>Please press All apps &gt; Music &gt; tap the music you want to set as ring tone (the music will start playing) &gt; press MENU &gt; Set as ringtone. You can set the MP3 as a Phone ringtone, Contact ringtone or you can select Trim the ringtone.</p><p>NOTE: All apps is the triangle icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.
