  • Q:What is Wi-Fi tethering?

    A:

    Wi-Fi tethering is sharing your Internet with other Wi-Fi capable devices. The handset will act as a wireless router that will broadcast a wireless network, which can be picked up by Wi-Fi enabled devices. The handset will use it's data connection (3G/GPRS) for this function. Please be advised that your mobile operator may charge extra for data services.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks check Portable Wi-Fi hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.

    After configuring the settings, the handset will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices.

    To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

    NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    NOTE 2: This function requires GPRS/3G service in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my handset's battery life?"

    NOTE 3: All apps is the square icon on the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet with a compatible device?

    A:

    There are two ways you can share your Internet to a compatible device; either through USB or you can use the handset as a portable wireless hotspot.

    Please make sure that you have an active mobile data connection on the handset in order to use these functions.

    To share your Internet to a computer via USB, please connect the handset to a computer using the supplied USB cable and make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks and please check USB Tethering the handset will start sharing the Internet connection to the computer.

    To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck USB Tethering or simply disconnect the handset from the computer.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. From the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks then check Portable Wi-Fi hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings. After configuring the settings, the handset will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices.

    To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

  • Q:Does the built in browser support Adobe Flash?

    A:

    Yes. The pre-installed browser in your handset supports Adobe Flash. Adobe® Flash® Player 10.3 is included so you can enjoy more games, videos, and experience the Web as it was meant to be seen.

  • Q:How can I use voice dialing with a compatible Bluetooth device?

    A:

    In order for this feature to function, you should have paired your phone to a compatible Bluetooth headset. To use voice dialing with a compatible Bluetooth device, please pressing and holding the SEARCH button on the handset and speak from the Bluetooth device.

    You can use keywords like "call "

    For example, "call John Smith home" will call John Smith's home number.

    NOTE 1: An Internet connection (Wi-Fi, GPRS/3G, etc.) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    NOTE 2: This function requires Bluetooth in order to work properly, and usage may shorten the handset's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my handset's battery life?"

  • Q:How do I bookmark a web site?

    A:

    You can bookmark as many websites as you want to quickly access them anytime you want. From the home screen please press All apps > Internet. While viewing the web site press MENU > Add > Add bookmark. You can edit the name of the bookmark then tap Add.

  • Q:Can I use the flash when I shoot videos in dim lighting conditions?

    A:

    Yes. You can use the flash of the camera when you shoot videos under dim lighting conditions. Please do the following to enable the flash when shooting videos: On the home screen please press All apps > Camera > Mode then switch to Video. On the camcorder screen, tap the Flash icon to "On"

    NOTE 2: The flash icon is the curved arrow beside the shutter button on the camera screen.

  • Q:How do I enable automatic updating for my applications?

    A:

    To enable automatic updating for the applications you have downloaded from the Android Market, from the home screen please press All apps > Market > MENU > My apps.

    This screen will show a list of applications that are currently installed on the handset. Please choose the application you want to automatically update and tap it to open. On the application description screen, put a check on Allow automatic updating.

  • Q:How do I find the IMEI/MEID of my phone?

    A:

    There are three ways you can find the IMEI/MEID on your handset:

    1. You can get the IMEI/MEID and phone number of your handset from the home screen. Please press MENU > Settings > About phone > Phone identity.

    2. Taking the back cover and battery out, the IMEI / MEID is printed on the sticker at the back of the handset.

    3. With the phone keypads on, dial *#06#; this will automatically display the handset's IMEI.

    NOTE: IMEI or International Mobile Equipment Identity is the number used to identify GSM phones. MEID or mobile Equipment Identifier is the number used to identify CDMA phones.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet from my computer to my phone?

    A:

    Internet pass-through lets you share your computer's Internet connection to your handset.

    To share your computer's Internet with your handset, please connect the handset to the computer via USB cable then drag the status bar down from the top of the screen. Choose Internet pass-through as the connection type. The handset will now be able to access the Internet through the computer's connection.

    NOTE: Please refer to "How can I synchronize my handset to my computer?" to install HTC Sync.

  • Q:How do I setup multiple numbers in a single contact?

    A:

    Please make sure that the contact is saved to either the phone memory or your Google account.

    To setup multiple numbers in a single contact, from the home screen please press All apps > People then tap the contact that you wish to add details to. Next press MENU > Edit contact then you can add a phone number by pressing Add below phone.

    NOTE 1: All apps is the square icon on the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the phone's application menu.

    NOTE 2: You can also add other details like email, postal address and more by tapping the add option on the corresponding detail.
