  • Q:What is Wi-Fi tethering?

    A:

    Wi-Fi tethering is sharing your Internet with other Wi-Fi capable devices. The device will act as a wireless router that will broadcast a wireless network, which can be picked up by Wi-Fi enabled devices. The device will use its data connection (3G/GPRS) for this function. Please be advised that your mobile operator may charge extra for data services.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings.

    After configuring the settings, the device will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices.

    To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot.

    NOTE 1: A mobile Internet connection (GPRS/3G) is required to access this service. Your mobile operator may charge for using GPRS/3G.

    NOTE 2: This function requires GPRS/3G service in order to work properly and usage may shorten the device's battery life. Please refer to "How can I prolong my device's battery life?"

    NOTE 3: All apps is the square icon in the lower left corner of the home screen that opens the device's application menu.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet with a compatible device?

    A:

    There are two ways you can share your Internet to a compatible device: either through USB or you can use the device as a portable wireless hotspot.

    Please make sure that you have an active mobile data connection on the device in order to use these functions.

    To share your Internet to a computer via USB, please connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable and make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks and please check USB Tethering. The device will start sharing the Internet connection to the computer.

    To stop sharing the Internet connection, please uncheck USB Tethering or simply disconnect the device from the computer.

    To share your Internet to a Wi-Fi capable device please make sure that your data connection is turned on. from the home screen please press MENU > Settings > Wireless & networks then check Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can change the network name and secure the connection by tapping Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings then after configuring the settings. The device will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name and you can connect up to eight devices.

  • Q:Does the built in browser support Adobe Flash?

    A:

    Yes. The pre-installed browser in your device supports Adobe Flash. Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 is included so you can enjoy more games, videos, and experience the Web as it was meant to be seen.

  • Q:Will I be able to play music using the dock mode?

    A:

    Using the dock mode you can view / play media such as photos, music, or video, access your calendar, and check the weather with a simple tap. To play music while in dock mode, from the home screen please press All apps > Dock Mode. It should show you a new home screen with shortcuts > Connected media > Music. Select player > Ok > Play.

  • Q:How do I bookmark a web site?

    A:

    You can bookmark as many websites as you want to quickly access them anytime you want. from the home screen please press All apps > Internet then tap the add icon > bookmark. Make any necessary changes and tap Add to finish.

  • Q:How can I read daily newspaper on my device?

    A:

    To read a newspaper on your device, from the home screen please press All apps > Press Reader > Store then choose and tap the country where you want to get your news. Tap the newspaper name to download an issue then OK. After the download process tap the installed newspaper issue to view.

  • Q:How do I enable automatic updating for my applications?

    A:

    To enable automatic updating for the applications you have downloaded from the Android Market, from the home screen please press All apps > Market > MENU > My apps.

    This screen will show a list of applications that are currently installed on the device. Please choose the application you want to automatically update and tap it to open. On the application description screen, put a check on Allow automatic updating.

  • Q:How do I find the IMEI/MEID of my device?

    A:

    You can get the IMEI/MEID and phone number of your device from the home screen by pressing MENU > Settings > About device > device identity.

    NOTE: IMEI or International Mobile Equipment Identity is the number used to identify GSM phones. MEID or mobile Equipment Identifier is the number used to identify CDMA devices.

  • Q:How can I share my Internet from my computer to my device?

    A:

    Internet pass-through or USB tethering lets you share your computer's Internet connection to your device.

    To share your computer's Internet with your device, please connect the device to the computer via USB cable then drag the status bar down from the top of the screen. Choose Internet pass-through as the connection type. The device will now be able to access the Internet through the computer's connection.

    NOTE: Please refer to "How can I synchronize my device to my computer?" to install HTC Sync.

  • Q:How do I sync my contacts & calendar to Gmail?

    A:

    Your Google contacts, Google calendar and Gmail can be backed up to Google server as long as you choose Google account when saving or creating calendar events and contacts.

    NOTE 1: Resetting your device to factory or manufacturer's default setting will delete all the data stored on your phone memory. Please backup your files first.

    NOTE 2: To copy your device contacts to Google contacts, please refer "How to copy device contacts to Google contacts?"
