  1. Available storage is less due to phone software.
  2. Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
  3. NFC availability depends on the mobile operator and your location. Please check with your mobile operator.
  4. a) Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.

    b) A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.

Note: specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

HTC 8X is a top device! The HTC 8X is by far the best looking phone that I have owned, the design is beautiful , I have the Californian blue coloured one and it is a real head turner, lots of people stare whilst I’m using it!. I love holding the HTC 8X , it just feels great in your hand, the back of the phone is like nothing I have ever felt before, feels almost like velvet which is a strange but nice sensation, the phone feels very light and sits well in your hand. I like how the buttons are placed, but there is no access to the internal parts of the phone. This is a real downside to the design of the phone, if the phone freezes you can’t get at the battery, also no option of carrying a spare battery. Also the lack of an SD card slot is also rather annoying. I know I can access storage through the cloud, which is maybe what Mircosoft want, but having the option would be nice. The battery life seems better than my previous phones, but I still have to charge at least once a day. On a few occasions I have also noticed that the phone overheats. The camera on the 8x is pretty decent and the front facing camera is a mega selling point on this phone with the wide angle lens. The sound quality both with and without headphones is awesome,. The windows operating system is fantastic, although a few improvements are needed, and the App developers need to get the finger out! But I find I have all the functionality I need from the phone itself, so I find myself needing less Apps to perform tasks. All in all I love this phone to bits, and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it. I think this is a real winner for HTC! January 31, 2013
Solid phone with distinctive design aesthetic The Windows Phone by 8X has to be one of the most distinctive smartphone designs I've had the pleasure to experience first hand. From the rubberized polycarbonate body to the curved gorilla glass the phone is top of the range and never have I been asked so much, "What phone is that?" by friends and casual onlookers alike. California blue was my weapon of choice but the other colour options are sure to ellicit similar head turning reactions. The 4.3 inch display hits the sweet spot for me personally in terms of size and allows you to effortlessly view media content without feeling like you're transporting a tablet in your pocket. The volume rocker, power and dedicated camera buttons all feel solid in operation and allow the phone to be used single handedly while on the move in an effortless fashion without excessive hand acrobatic skills being required. I am delighted with this smartphone and wouldn't hesitate in suggesting it to anyone! February 5, 2013
First Time Windows Phone User I’ve had the 8X for about a month so I’ve really had time to play around with it and I have to say it is a stunning device and a joy to use. Design: The HTC 8X is beautiful to look at and to hold(sometimes my gf gets jealous). It has a soft matte polycarbonate exterior which provides great grip and feels great in your hand. Thanks to the round thin edges you get a feeling of a premium sleek phone, which is great. Overall its a real eye catcher. OS: This was my first windows phone device and I really enjoyed the OS. Coming from a HTC One X(Android), there was no switching barrier. The OS user interface and controls are very intuitive. The look and feel is very customisable and user friendly and have subtle but beautiful effects and transitions, giving the device an overall smooth feel. Battery: The 8X sports a nice 1,800mAh battery & I found it to be just right. I am generally a power user and I would regularly get a full days use out of a single charge. On days with intensive use, this would reduce considerably so thats a downside. Apps: Coming from an android device, I was let down by the Windows app store. They have the popular apps, Facebook, Twitter and the likes but thats about it. If you’re accustomed to the variety of apps available on other platforms then you may share my opinion on this one. The Windows Phone app store is still growing and fast too so I won’t worry about this too much. Media: The camera quality on the 8x is superb. 8MP rear facing and 2.1MP This combination leads to impressive shots. I used the camera in bright and low light conditions(night outs) and the quality is super. The front facing camera has a wide angle lens which means you capture everyone in those group shots that we love so much. Videos are captured in full 1080p HD quality at 30fps and they look amazing when played back on the big screen. Sound on this device is backed by the Beats Audio and with a nice pair of earphones you can really tell the difference. Summary: The 8X is a beautiful device I enjoy using it. It gets top marks for design, hardware and media features but takes a hit with the battery life and lack of apps to really make it shine. The 8X is my secondary phone at the moment and I’m in no hurry to jump ship from android as of now but I see Windows Phone making a big splash in the nearest future. February 19, 2013
Perfection This phone is perfect! I love it much............. December 16, 2012
Great improvement from Windows Phone 7 Made a bold step to start using HTC Trophy as my first smartphone. Was attracted my the fluidity of the windows mobile OS, made a slight switch to andriod to try out but found the OS complicated and laggy. Made the switch to HTC 8X and never regret ever since. So fluid and colourful - I recommend orange as the theme!!! December 21, 2012
Great phone, some niggles though Fantastic feel, good weight, lovely screen - but some issues that frustrate all the same: - lack of memory expansion capability - poor corner protection of glass .. lots and lots of people appear to have cracked screens from *very* minor knocks; gutted to have it happen to me 2 weeks into ownership (6" drop onto a table with a tablecloth)! - poor low light camera results - lack of quality HTC apps to match Nokia's output December 21, 2012
Satisfying I'm a graphic designer. And I put a high standard on every review I made on mobile phones, whether on the outlook, the software, etc. I think 8X really is one of the best Windows Phone so far, and it's beautiful! Been using it for a week, satisfying. December 27, 2012
Lack of functions!! I am WP fans since WP7, was using Radar in the past. I feel so regret to 'upgrade' to X8 from my Radar. First, there are downgrade in camera functions, which in Radar I have Scene and Panorama built-in in camera, but is gone in X8!! Screen display brightness is too bright and high contrast, I was so proud with my previous Radar brilliant display, when turn to X8, the image display is so disappointed. Sound quality, another which X8 suppose to be proud of, yet is another disappointment to me, the Radar come with 'nothing' in sound system, yet perform much better high quality sound that X8, which is lack of BASS in sound with whatever earphone I tried! APPS is another problem with X8, no innovative, no new apps, no surprise! Other brand keep innovate their in house apps, provide free navigation software, yet HTC charge for its map's navi, keep with that few apps since WP7 age.. To me, I am still a WP fan, although my current phone is so... because I tried with N too, it preform excellent! If for me choose again, I will rather pay more for N. I used Touch Diamond II, Radar until now X8, only feel so frustrated with the latter. I really hope HTC will look into it, to avoid lose in your loyal customer like me. January 5, 2013
