  • Hot fix to enable Network Band Selection Function for HTC TyTN II (for HK only)(2)

    Release Date: 2008-12-15

    The Phone setting menu of TyTN II is missing the Band selection tab. If you encounter this problem, please install this hot fix to enable the function.

    Installation Instructions:
    Note: Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Phone to check the function.
    Follow the instructions below to download and install the update on your device:

    1. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista® PC. You can find Microsoft ActiveSync from this linkor Windows Mobile Device Center from this link
    2. Connect and synchronize your device with your PC via Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center using the USB cable.
    3. Copy the update, which is an .exe file, to your device. To install the update, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Note: If you perform a device hard reset, you will need to reinstall the update after the hard reset.

  • Hotfix to enhance the security mechanism of Bluetooth service (HK&TW)

    Release Date: 2009-07-23

    This hotfix enhances the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth service to make the Bluetooth communication more secure.

    Note:

    1. This hotfix can only be applied on Touch Diamond/ Diamond (P3702)/ Touch Pro/ Touch 3G/ Touch Cruise/ Touch Viva/ Touch Dual/ Touch Cruise (09)/ Touch/ TyTN II/ Advantage X7501/Advantage X7510/ P6500/ P3300/ P3400/ P4000/ P4350/ P3470/ P6300/ S620/ S630/ S640/ S710/ S730/ S740 which has the FTP service preinstalled. Before installing, please first check to see if the FTP service is on your phone by tapping Settings >Communications > Settings > Bluetooth and verifying there is tab named FTP.
    2. If there is a pop-up message saying “This hotfix is not compatible with your device,” it means the device has applied the fix already or device doesn’t have the BT FTP service and the phone does not need to install it.

  • ROM Upgrade for HTC TyTN II (3.34.721.2 WWE)

    Release Date: 2008-10-22

    Installation Instructions:
    Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade is a newer version than what is currently installed on your device. If it is the same version and your device is operating normally, there is no need to reinstall the software.
    To check what version is installed on your device, click Start > Settings > System tab > Device Information > Version tab, and note the ROM version, CPU, and Radio version.

    Warning!

    * This is a generic software update. Any additional software or settings provided by your mobile operator or company will be lost. If you require this customization, please contact your supplier first before upgrading.
    * Please note that this upgrade will erase any data stored on the device. Once you proceed with the upgrade, the system can not be downgraded again.
    * Please back up your data first before upgrading your device. Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following:

    • * The USB sync cable is connected to your device and PC. If your PC is running Windows XP®, ActiveSync® will run automatically to establish a connection. If your PC is running Windows Vista™, then Windows Mobile Device Center will establish the connection between your device and PC.
    • * All running applications on the device have been closed.
    • * Make sure that the battery level of the device is at least 50%. To check, tap Start > Settings > System tab > Power.
    • * The update will take up to 10 minutes, DO NOT interrupt the update process, make/receive phone calls, disconnect the device from the PC, or press any buttons until the process has been completed.
    • Once the RUU is downloaded, launch the application on your PC and follow the instructions.
    • * Click View Readme when executing the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) to view detailed upgrade procedure, error message information or Q&A
