Rated 4 out of 5Â by Alpana Loved the phone but vry pathetic body
The first time i took my htc one s in my hand i loved the feel. It was light and razor thin. I loved the features, camera everything. But one day as my phone dropped from a height as low as a foot, i saw scratch on it. The black coating gave away showing a bad metal scar. I have used many smartphone and dropped them several times. None of them ever peeled this way. I hate to cover my phone but now i have no option. Htc please do something about this issue and change my phone body coz i love one s and dont wanna cover it at all.

I was fed up of Android in a plactic box and my last phone manufacturer had no idea what they created. I wanted to change desperately and move to Windows based phone. The shop i went to showed me the One S and i liked the feel of the metal and the screen size. 6 Months later I am very sarisfied. It takes world class images and the phone works great so does al the apps I have downloaded. Works for more than 24 hours without a recharge.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BrownBrady 8 Months Later: The Best Device I Have Ever Owned
I owned an HTC Amaze 4G which I absolutely loved, but I kept switching between it and my BlackBerry Bold 9900. The HTC One S made me leave my BlackBerry for good. This is the best DEVICE I have ever owned. Period. It has an excellent camera: The photos look amazing on this no matter how close I am to the subject! I love the 'Best Shot' feature which allows me to take rapid photos and select the best shot because single shots are usually blurry. Bright and colourful screen which is handy when I am reading the news outdoors. The battery lasts me the whole work day with moderate use, but the battery saver mode does help extend that. Most of all, HTC did an excellent job by creating something different other than just another cheap-feeling, plastic candy bar phone! I love the metal case, slick bezel design, and perfect size for holding and carrying around. I love this phone!

HTC One S is the best 4.3" mid-range smartphone with high-end specs. This is one of a kind smartphone with slim, aluminium unibody treated with Micro-Arc Oxidation.
I just love my HTC One S.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Ashvit Review : HTC One S
The HTC One S codenamed HTC Ville was announced by HTC on February 26,2012.It is a premium phone designed and manufactured by HTC and a part of the One series. It was launched along with the One X and One V.
HTC's One S is a device with a level of fit and finish beyond the rest of the high-end to midrange device category.
Slotted between the low-end HTC One V and the high-end HTC One X in the HTC One lineup, the One S's specs and positioning are close to that of the flagship One X.
HTC One S has a simple bar design with rounded edges. The HTC One S is bound to grab attention with its 8 mm unibody. With the help of sensors like the Gyro Sensor, G-Sensor and Digital Compass you enjoy easy toggling between applications. The right side of the phone has volume controls whereas, the left side only has a Micro USB port. On its top it has a power button, a micro SIM card compartment, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. Above its screen is usual earpiece and front camera whereas, below the screen has capacitive touch keys. The measurement of the phone is 130.9 mm, 65 mm and 7.8 mm in height, width and depth. The phone fits best in hand and is easy to carry.
The highly durable body is complemented with 4.3 inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels (qHD resolution) and pixel density of 256 ppi that offers bright display, richer colours and optimum power processing while the gorilla glass layer ensures the screen is protected from scratches.
HTC One S uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260A SoC (system on chip) which includes a 1.5 GHz dual-core Krait CPU and an Adreno 225 GPU.The One S uses the older Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 SoC, with a 1.7 GHz dual-core Scorpion CPU and Adreno 220 GPU.The One S also features a standard array of sensors, including an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The phone provides 1 GB of RAM.
The HTC One S was launched with Android 4.0.3 "Ice Cream Sandwich"and HTC Sense Version 4, which was later upgraded to 4.1.1 "Jelly Bean" update and HTC Sense Version 4+.
With an 8 megapixel main camera and VGA front camera, One S assures the quality. It hardly takes a second to start. Even with continuous photo shoots you can easily jump to HD video recording and also while recording HD video it can take photos. The picture quality and the colours remain same even in an indoor shoot. Apart from basic camera features of this segment such as face detection, auto smile capture, and panorama, the One S Capture a photo in the midst of recording HD video and even in continuous shooting mode it captures multiple snapshots.
The One series of HTC comes with Beats Audio technology. So everything you hear on your phone be it music, videos, games or even YouTube you get rich and clear sound.
HTC One S comes with in-built 16 GB of memory space and lacks with micro SD card slot. To compensate, HTC has come up with Dropbox that is integrated into HTC Sense. You can automatically save all your photos and videos to Dropbox and can access and share all your pictures directly from the Gallery. Dropbox also makes it easy to edit and share files.
The HTC One S is powered by an integrated (non-user-replaceable) 1,650 mAh battery.
Talk Time:-9 hours to 10 hours.
Web Browsing:-5 hours to 6 hours.
Video Playback:-9 hours to 10 hours.
ADD ON FEATURES
The HTC One S comes with GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi that ensure you can stay connected no matter where you are. The A-GPS phone comes with Google Maps making driving through the city a hassle-free affair. With the Bluetooth feature you can easily transfer files to and from compatible devices.Other useful apps you will find on this Android phone include Facebook, Weather Update, and YouTube. The phone also comes with video stabilization, 25 GB Dropbox space, audio recording and the voice input feature.
Company has designed the One Series phones pretty different from each other. With the One S, HTC has created a new market category of smartphones which could be called an 'alternative flagship'.The HTC One S is one of the most impressive mobile phones both in terms of hardware and software. The 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED screen is a welcome change from the LCD-only lineup HTC had for a while. They've done much to improve the photo quality and add advanced features to the camera too.I would recommend having HTC One S with its compact and comparatively smaller display giving easy single handed operation. It also gives classy feel due to its thin ceramic metal chassis.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Gimi HTC should give S4 processor instead of S3 in India
The HTC One S that will be launched in India is the inferior version with the S3 processor overclocked to 1.7Ghz along with the Adreno 220 GPU instead of the advanced and more power efficient Krait S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU. The processor is the same as on the Sensation XE and has been overclocked by 200 MHz.The Sensation already has pathetic battery life. In the One S: Overclocking + Fixed battery translates to pathetic expected battery life and definite heating. The S3 is a clearly inferior compared to the S4
WHY WE SHOULD PAY SUCH A HIGH PRICE OF AN OUTDATED PROCESSOR ?????

Rated 3 out of 5Â by ShyamPrabhu HTC again not best in the pack :(
The Indian version of ONE S houses an overclocked outdated S3 chipset. The phone performance cannot be even com compared with the Sammy's flagaship droid S3. The phone cannot even outperform the samsung Galaxy S2. Very disappointed in not getting the S4 Snapdragon beast for the Indian version.

The only drawback of the phone is it dosn't have Micro SD expasion slot for memory. otherwise the phone is great.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by nebuneli all in wonder
It is everything I need from a smartphone lightweight, slim, cool design and has enough power to surpass even PC's from the past decade. It goes head to head with quad-cores and even beats them in some tests. But enough praising let's get to the not so good stuff . If one looks for downsides of the One S can find the following: - can get preety hot during heavy usage 44C, missing microsd, encapsulated battery and at least I got MAO failure in 2 places. In a nutshell this is the best Smartphone one can get in my opinion.

Rated 3 out of 5 Disappointed with HTC One S Processor
HTC have disappointed everyone in India by launching it with the S3 processor instead of the S4. Just compare it with Samsung they have launched Galaxy S3 with same specs as in International market in India along with its International launch, they value Indian market so much and there is no wonder they are the market leaders in smartphones. Do not give false hopes that the S3 processor will give comparable perfomance to S4 which it will definitely not, it will consume more battery and will get hotter because of its over clocked processor.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Dreamaaj The international version in much better [with 1.5 GHz S4] , India should have received it .
There is a huge difference b/w S3 and S4 ...No need to pay this much for an outdated processor ..Don't be fooled by overclocked 1.7 GHz dual core ....

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jade I love this phone.
Well i got this phone 6days after it came out, Ive been having my eye on it since it got announced. I just loved the look of it, The built in camera Features, I love the fact you can record and take pictures while still recording. Amazing. I think it is a perfect size, Not too big and nice and thin. Easy to hold. I think they haven't done too bad on the battery either, Battery on phones are really the most that annoys me, but yesterday i took it off charge at 7am and took pictures alot yesterday and text and went on Facebook alot yesterday and the battery didn't go into yellow zone till about 6pm. I was really pleased. My notifications on apps didn't work to start off with and i got pretty annoyed but they seem to be working fine now. The speaker is really good too, Annoyed you don't get beat headphones with them any more tho, i was looking forward to getting them but i got 5pound headphones yesterday and the volume is good. So not to annoyed any more, I haven't yet regretted getting this phone yet. Everything is so easy to find and amazing to type on. I really Recommend this phone to anyone, Does everything you need. So much better then a iphone.

This phone is super fast and responsive. It's really nice to use. The only downside is the battery. If you're a heavy user, you'll have to charge it every single day. But the design and features are brilliant. Overall, I'm loving it! :)

Was really looking foward to this phone. I got a shock when I realised that there is no expandable memory. I use my phone for all my pictures and music and that alone uses nearly 20g of memory. I have a 32g memory chip on my sensation. HTC have have really missed the boat on this model of phone. Returning it emmediatly as it is totally useless for my needs.

Good phone but the MAO coating is poor and chips off easily around the edges of the handset exposing the aluminium underneath. Poor QA.

I wasn't expecting to get this phone but when i did i was highly impressed and the graphics are amazing. Yes you don't fully get 16gb of space but 9gb should be more than enough for all your music, apps, pictures & video's. It runs smoothly and rather quite fast, i don't think you can go wrong with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by VasP Beautiful but not as good as advertised...
I was amazed by the way this phone was marketed as being able to withstand the everyday use and a bit more without a case. This is not true as i have already exchanged my first One S black for another one due to minor chipping on the top. Otherwise im happy with the phone and i would like more durable battery as well, as its something that you need when you cannot replace it on your own.
I hope HTC will find a solution to this chipping issue and also will allow owners that have already bought the phone to be within that solution. If the manufacturing process changes and after a certain serial number they are better, i would appreciate if HTC would replace my current phone for free, even if it doesnt have any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Elly Love it.
Bought this a couple of weeks ago as an upgrade to a Desire. I absolutely love it, the screen quality is great, the camera even better especially allowing you to use different filters as you're taking pictures and the sound quality for a phone is amazing. The only problem I have is that the battery life could be just a little better, mine lasts 1-2 days of moderate use and takes about 3 hours to charge. Saying that though most people have a charger handy so it isn't really an issue particularly since the charger is a micro USB anyway so standard to a lot of smartphones. The phone looks and feels great it can just be a little slippery to hold (a bit if a problem when you're never going to put it down) so mine is all wrapped up in a nice case.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by dlorde Antenna problem?
Great phone, really good form factor, fast, excellent screen, camera, and other features. The only thing that lets it down is that it has a very poor signal reception - in places where my previous Desire could happily browse the internet, download or stream video, this phone just fails to get enough signal to enable the connection. It often fails to get any network connection at all, where the Desire had no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ValterD HTC One S amazing phone...
The only thing that let this phone down is the battery life witch is not as it suppost to be, HTC should lisen to the die hard customers and fans of there divices and give a more powerful battery to their devices because if they do so it will be without a dout the best smartphones in the market... The designe is just gorgeous, I being using HTC phones sence they came out with G1 and never change to other make, still have my G1, Wildfire, Desire, Desire HD, Sensation 4g and xl, now I have the One S. I love my HTC One S it is that good.

I got this phone as a present from my fiance. Practically it was a downgrade for me because before this phone I had an iPhone 4 which is to believe the best phone on the market still.
But I have to say the HTC One S is brilliant. Especially the camera. Much better than the iphone 4, plus the camera on my iphone was broken anyway.
Also the weight off the phone is excellent compared to the iphone. Screen is so big and it responds really fast.
The only critical thing might be is the battery, I have WiFi turned on all the time and it doesnt like that too much. One day you will get out of if you dont use the internet etc not too much.
