A decent phone. However, hangs very frequently. It has been over 7 months since I have started using this phone now. The problem started right on the second day with the message being displayed as 'SD Card unexpectedly unmounted' when the SD card was still present. Had to change couple of SD cards and also flash the ROM to get it back to normalcy. I got an update in September when I came to UK, and ever since then, it has been hanging severely. It doesn't make a call, doesn't show up the contacts or messages, camera hangs. The entire phone freezes and it would be alright only after sometime. It is really troublesome when you are not able to make use of your phone in times of need. There are also quite a lot of inbuilt apps which are quite useless, and a not so good thing is they can't be uninstalled, thus consuming extra memory. On the contrary, the design is pretty good, battery life is stable and better than other smartphones, good WiFi connectivity, excellent sound enhancement, quality camera recording, and solid build. Superb build quality, great work phone + Fantastic MacBook Pro-style aluminium + glass unibody, unmatched by any phone in its price category, and only matched by very few phones at any price. + Unparalleled battery life - 2 to 3 days of normal use. Included charger is compact and easy to travel with. + Comfortable, sensible, minimalist design feels reassuring in hand and thinner than it is, with a LED status light for at-a-glance alerts. 3.7-inch screen facilitates easy one-hand use. + Capable camera - relatively fast, great low-light performance, simultaneous video + photo recording. + Great out-of-the-box software - Android 4.0 ICS + slimmed down Sense 4.0 means phone is full-featured and responsive on everyday tasks. + easy-to-reach SDHC expansion slot for up to 32GB cards plus ability to switch cards without turning off phone. - Lack of some features that may turn off some customers: -front-facing camera -digital compress -dedicated camera button -higher resolution screen (although the 800x480 screen have excellent contrast and almost too-saturated colour, and have more than fine-enough pixel pitch for everyday use) - Photo and video compression ratio is too high, causing artifacts and making output much worse than it should be. This should be made adjustable. - Earpiece/handsfree speaker is quieter than typical phones, could cause problems for users in noisy environments. - Headphone output is noisy, a difficult drawback to avoid due to the size of the device, but could be minimized with better EM shielding (given that similar-sized devices such as iPod Touch do not suffer from this problem). - Camera lens is not recessed and is relatively easy to accidentally smudge. Very nice phone I have had this phone for a couple of days now and so far so good, it has been excellent. I was expecting poor battery life from other reviews but for me this simply hasnt been the case it has been fantastic. there are no areas of concern, great phone worth every penny June 4, 2012
Yellow patches on screen I observe some yellow tinting on my camera pics. The processor and RAM are good but not really enough for normal multi-tasking June 22, 2012
Dissapointed Had this a month now, and slowly getting dissapointed. Initially I was over the moon with it, but the following points have lessened my pleasure .. Sound from the phone itself (not headsets) is tinny and low volume No built in direction sensor means compass apps can't work, google maps compass mode won't work, geocaching apps don't work correctly, and GPS functions are limited. Built in Calendar App crashes with monotonous regularity Unable to uninstall or disable the numerous unwanted apps that take up the limited memory and storage space. I'm guessing that some of the problems are ICS and not the phone itself, but the joy of initial ownership is fading as I realise the limitations .. Shame .. as the initial impression was so good, which means it COULD be a really fantastic device .. with just a few tweaks ... July 10, 2012
This is the One I've been waiting for! I'm really happy with this product. This is the first HTC smart phone I'm using and I feel that no one has customized the features like HTC do. I got almost all the apps I needed inbuilt with the HTC sense. Camera is best in the class, sound is authentic and performance is great! June 2, 2012
