• Update Hotfix to enhance the security mechanism of Bluetooth service

  This hotfix enhances the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth service to make the Bluetooth communication more secure.

  Note:

  1. This hotfix can only be applied on Touch Diamond/ Diamond (P3702)/ Touch Pro/ Touch HD/ Touch 3G/ Touch Cruise/ Touch Viva/ Touch Dual/ Touch Cruise (09)/ Touch/ TyTN II/ Advantage X7501/Advantage X7510/ P6500/ P3300/ P3400/ P4000/ P4350/ P3470/ P6300/ S620/ S630/ S640/ S710/ S730/ S740 which has the FTP service preinstalled. Before installing, please first check to see if the FTP service is on your phone by tappingSettings > Communications > Settings > Bluetooth and verifying there is tab named FTP.
  2. If there is a pop-up message saying “This hotfix is not compatible with your device,” it means the device has applied the fix already or device doesn’t have the BT FTP service and the phone does not need to install it.

  Installation Instructions:
  Follow the instructions below to download and install the update on your device:

  1. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista® PC. You can find Microsoft ActiveSync from this linkor Windows Mobile Device Center from this link
  2. Connect and synchronize your device with your PC via Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center using the USB cable.
  3. Copy the update, which is an .exe file, to your device. To install the update, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

  Note: If you perform a device hard reset, you will need to reinstall the update after the hard reset.

• Update Hot Fix for resolving the prolonged ring response issue in HTC Touch Viva

  The device will keep ringing for a few seconds after the caller hangs up the call. You may answer a phone call without anyone responding on the other and think it’s a dropped call, but actually it’s because the caller has already discontinued the call. If you encounter this problem, please install this hot fix to resolve this issue.

• Update Hot Fix for resolving some virtual keys malfunctioning in full QWERTY keypad mode in HTC Touch Viva (for Asia-English version, EU-Spanish, Portuguese, Italian version)

  When searching through Contacts by using the onscreen full QWERTY keypad, the phone will automatically dial out the 1st contact person when you type the letter “R”. When typing the letter “W”, an “*” will be placed after it (shows “W*”). When typing an “X”, a “#” will be placed after it (shows “X#”). If you encounter this problem, please install this hot fix to resolve the problem.
