    Release Date: 2009-08-30

    Installation Instructions:
    Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade is a newer version than what is currently installed on your device. If it is the same version and your device is operating normally, there is no need to reinstall the software.
    To check what version is installed on your device, click Start > Settings > System tab > Device Information > Version tab, and note the ROM version, CPU, and Radio version.

    Warning!

    * This is a generic software update. Any additional software or settings provided by your mobile operator or company will be lost. If you require this customization, please contact your supplier first before upgrading.
    * Please note that this upgrade will erase any data stored on the device. Once you proceed with the upgrade, the system can not be downgraded again.
    * Please back up your data first before upgrading your device. Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following:

    • * The USB sync cable is connected to your device and PC. If your PC is running Windows XP®, ActiveSync® will run automatically to establish a connection. If your PC is running Windows Vista™, then Windows Mobile Device Center will establish the connection between your device and PC.
    • * All running applications on the device have been closed.
    • * Make sure that the battery level of the device is at least 50%. To check, tap Start > Settings > System tab > Power.
    • * The update will take up to 10 minutes, DO NOT interrupt the update process, make/receive phone calls, disconnect the device from the PC, or press any buttons until the process has been completed.
    • Once the RUU is downloaded, launch the application on your PC and follow the instructions.
    • * Click View Readme when executing the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) to view detailed upgrade procedure, error message information or Q&A

  • Update Hotfix to enhance the security mechanism of Bluetooth service

    Release Date: 2009-07-31

    This hotfix enhances the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth service to make the Bluetooth communication more secure.

    Note:

    1. This hotfix can only be applied on Touch Diamond/ Diamond (P3702)/ Touch Pro/ Touch HD/ Touch 3G/ Touch Cruise/ Touch Viva/ Touch Dual/ Touch Cruise (09)/ Touch/ TyTN II/ Advantage X7501/Advantage X7510/ P6500/ P3300/ P3400/ P4000/ P4350/ P3470/ P6300/ S620/ S630/ S640/ S710/ S730/ S740 which has the FTP service preinstalled. Before installing, please first check to see if the FTP service is on your phone by tappingSettings > Communications > Settings > Bluetooth and verifying there is tab named FTP.
    2. If there is a pop-up message saying “This hotfix is not compatible with your device,” it means the device has applied the fix already or device doesn’t have the BT FTP service and the phone does not need to install it.

  • Update Hot fix for Touch Cruise photo quality issue

    Release Date: 2008-08-04

    If you zoom in on a captured photo and notice grainy, maze-like patterns within the image itself (this problem is caused by too much sharpness enhancement being applied in bright-light environments), please download and install this hot fix to solve the problem. Sharpness parameters within the photo will then be reduced with only a minimal loss of image sharpness.

  • Update Hot fix for resolving Bluetooth headset sound problem that occurs when reconnecting with HTC Touch Cruise

    If you are using the Bluetooth headset, “Jabra JX10”, “Jabra BT500” or “Samsung WEP 150”, and the headset becomes out of range or undetected by the HTC Touch Cruise, in certain circumstances, you may be unable to hear any sound from the headset even after it has reconnected successfully with HTC Touch Cruise. Please install this hot fix to improve the connection when using the above-mentioned Bluetooth headsets.

    When you are using a Bluetooth headset and the HTC Touch Cruise goes to sleep/idle mode, the Bluetooth connection becomes unsteady in certain circumstances. The Bluetooth headset may reconnect and disconnect intermittently. If this problem occurs, please install this hot fix onto your device.
