The BIOS Update enhances USB flash disk compatibility on the HTC Shift mobile computer.

Installation Instructions:

To determine which installer you should use to update the BIOS, check first the type of keyboard on your mobile computer:   

·   For HTC Shift mobile computers that use the UK keyboard, use the 080522UK.ROM installer to upgrade your BIOS and EC firmware.

·   For HTC Shift mobile computers that use other types of keyboards, use the 080522.ROM installer to upgrade your BIOS and EC firmware.

 Warning: Please be sure to use the correct BIOS update installer for your device. Otherwise, the keyboard keys will be mapped incorrectly and you will not get the correct characters when you type on the keyboard.

 

Updating the BIOS 

1.      After downloading the BIOS update installer to your mobile computer, unzip the installer and then run htcflash.exe.

2.      When you see the HTC Firmware Update Utility window, click Open.

3.      Select the appropriate installer (*.ROM) file to use. Double-click the file to run the installer.

4.      Click Update to start updating the BIOS of your HTC Shift, and wait for the update process to complete.
