TELUS Touch Pro SMS Date Hotfix (English and French) |

Since the year changed to 2010, SMS received by TELUS Touch Pro customers are seeing the year in the timestamp coming in as 2016.The TELUS Touch Pro SMS Date Hotfix will resolve this issue. Once this Hotfix has been installed on the device, all new SMS (received after the installation) and messages that were received prior to installing this Hotfix will be corrected to show the year as 2010 rather than 2016. more
Please note:
- This hotfix will need to be reinstalled if the device is hard reset. Also, the hotfix cannot be installed again until the device is hard reset.
- If any software was installed to bypass the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) functionality of the device, the device may need to be hard reset prior to this hotfix being installed.
Download and Installation steps:
- Download the TELUS Touch Pro SMS Date Hotfix (be sure to select the language version for your device) and save it to the desktop of your PC
- Verify you have installed and configured the Activesync (Windows XP or sooner) or Windows Mobile Device Center (for Vista and Windows 7) software.
- Put your device in Airplane Mode: Start>Settings>Connections tab>Comm Manager>Airplane
- Connect the TELUS Touch Pro
- In Activesync, tap on Explore to bring up the File Explorer window. For WMDC, tap on File Management then Browse the contents of your device.
- If using WMDC, double click on the device memory folder that appears in the File Explorer screen. This is usually depicted by a backslash icon. Next, double click on My Documents.
- Drag and drop the TELUS Touch Pro SMS Date Hotfix file from your Desktop to the File Explorer window
- On the device, go to Start>Programs>File Explorer
- Locate the TELUS Touch Pro SMS Date Hotfix file and single tap on it to install
- Follow the onscreen prompts to install the file
- Reboot the device per on-screen instructions to finalize installation
- After the device reboots, take the device out of Airplane Mode by navigating to Start>Settings>Connections tab>Comm Manager and tap on Airplane Mode

Bluetooth Security Hotfix |

This hotfix enhances the security mechanisms of the Bluetooth service to make the Bluetooth communication more secure. more
This hotfix can only be applied on TELUS Touch that has the Bluetooth FTP service preinstalled.
Before installing, please first check to see if the FTP service is on your phone by going to the Settings tab in TouchFlo > Communications > Settings > Bluetooth and verifying there is tab named FTP.
This HotFix will not survive a Hard Reset; if the device is Hard Reset, this file will need to be reinstalled to ensure Bluetooth Service Security.
- Download the "Bluetooth Security Hotfix" file to your PC.
- Connect your device to your PC using the USB Data Cable.
- Establish a connection between the device and Activesync (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista/Windows 7).
- Once connected:
- Activesync: Open the Explore option in Activesync on the PC.
- Windows Mobile Device Center select File Management > Browse Contents of the device > double click on your device.
- Drag the "Bluetooth Security Hotfix" file from your desktop to your device.
- On your device, go to Start > Programs > File Explorer and locate the “Bluetooth Security Hotfix” file.
- Tap on the file to begin the installation process.
- Note: If there is a pop-up message saying “This hotfix is not compatible with your device,” it means the device has applied the fix already or the device doesn’t have the BT FTP service and the device does not need the Hotfix.
- Once the installation process has completed, no further action is needed.
