Scroll down the screen, and then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the 3 Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset. Was this helpful? Yes | No - When should I perform a Hard Reset? more
-
A hard reset basically returns your device RAM to factory conditions, the device is restored to its default settings – the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on.
Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain. This is a drastic step, and should only be taken in the event that there is some kind of hardware failure, gross system error, or if you want to remove all of your data from the device. A Hard Reset should only be done if nothing else worked to recover your device. Was this helpful? Yes | No - How can I tell how much free memory I have left on my device? more
