In order to use the application shortcuts on the lock screen, drag the application shortcut to the middle of the ring at the bottom of the lock screen then release. This will unlock the screen and launch the application you chose.
You can edit the application shortcuts on the lock screen by going to Personalize > Lock screen > Settings, tapping the icon you want to change and then selecting the application you would like to replace it with.

You can use voice commands on your handset by using the Voice Search application. From the Home screen, tap the microphone icon in the upper-left corner. Alternatively, go to All apps > Voice Search.

In order to have the Weather information update automatically as you change locations, the Location setting needs to be enabled for GPS. You will be prompted to select this option during the initial set up of the device but if need be, these settings can also be accessed from the Home screen by selecting All apps > Settings > Location. To see additional options while within the Weather application, tap Menu > Settings and select the desired option.
Note: Menu is in the upper-right of selected applications, and has an icon that looks like four horizontal lines.

You can use FriendStream™ to interact with friends across multiple social networks like Facebook™, Twitter™, and Flickr®. You are brought into a single easy to follow stream of updates, photo posts, and shared links. FriendStream also lets you shout out your thoughts or feelings to all your online friends with a single comment that gets broadcast to both Facebook and Twitter.

You can access FriendStream by tapping the FriendStream icon in the All apps menu. You will have multiple tab options to view updates: All updates, Status updates, Photos and videos, Links, Lists and Notifications.
To enter your status update, tap Post, enter your status update and tap post. This will update all the social networking sites you use on your device. To choose which accounts to post to, tap Accounts and check the desired accounts.
Refresh will update your all your contact’s updates. Tap Menu to access individual friends or your Friend Stream settings.
You also have the option of placing FriendStream on one of your home screens as a widget (There are multiple sizes of widgets). This will allow you to update your status and, using the Home screen widget, you can view your friends’ status updates without having to launch any additional programs. To add the widget to your Home screen, first slide to any Home screen with empty space and press the Add (+) button and then select the FriendStream widget. If you do not have enough room on your screen, you will be asked to choose another screen to display the widget. Otherwise, the widget will be placed in the available space and you can view your friends status updates. - Where can I download games or applications? more

Tap on Market in the All apps menu and browse through the list of applications available.
Market is the application that provides access to the Android Market. Market offers both Free and Paid applications for Android users. When downloading content from Market, be aware that the applications offered have not been tested by HTC and that all Market Application Support is the responsibility of the Developer of that application; Not HTC. To access Market, you will need an active Google account set up on the device, and then from the Home Screen, select All Apps > Market. To find an application in Android Market, you can:- Browse through featured applications.
- Browse applications by categories: Tap Apps or Games, and then tap a category. You can also filter the applications by Top paid, Top free or Just in.
- Search by tapping on the magnifying glass and entering a keyword.

To install an application on your tablet, first make sure that the installer is an .apk file, as this is the only file type that can be installed on the Android OS.

After you have downloaded the .apk file to your computer, use the provided USB cable to connect the tablet to a USB port on your computer. When prompted, choose Disk drive as the connection type on your device. On your computer, go to the newly mounted Removable Disk and then copy the file to the microSD card.
When finished, turn off USB storage on your device by tapping the USB indicator at the bottom of the Home screen, then change the connection type to Charge only.
To enable the application to be installed on the device, go to All apps > Settings > Applications then check Unknown sources.
In order for you to be able to access the file and install it on your device, you will need a file manager application installed. Search for the keyword “file manager” on the Android Market, and then locate and download a file manager application.
Using your file manager, open the folder where you copied the file. Tap the installation file then tap Install. Once installed, you will have an option to Open the newly installed application or tap Done to close and finish the installation without opening the newly installed application.

By default, all applications on the device are installed to the tablet memory. An application can only be moved to the micro SD card if it was designed by the developer to have that function.

To install applications to the micro SD card, go to All apps > Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Tap on the application that you want to install on the micro SD card then tap Move to SD card.
Note 1: If the Move to SD card option is grayed out, this means that the application does not have the capability to be installed on the micro SD card. Please contact the developer for support details.
Note 2: You will not be able to use the applications on the micro SD card if the handset is on Disk drive mode connected to a computer.
Note 3: Applications installed on the micro SD card will only work on the device the application was downloaded to. If the card is moved to a different device, the application will not show up in the All apps menu.

You can uninstall any application that you have downloaded and installed from Android Market. Navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. On the downloaded tab, tap the application you want to uninstall, and then tap Uninstall. When prompted, tap OK to remove the application on your device.

In order to recover Market applications you had installed prior to a hard reset, simply sign into your Google account on your device and the applications should be automatically restored. If your applications do not restore automatically, you can go to All apps > Market > Sign In > Menu > Downloads and select the items to be restored to your device.

A Footprint is a stored location together with a precise GPS position and other information about that location such as the street address and phone number. You can save a Footprint with a location type (Business, Shopping, Attraction, etc) and a picture. Once the Footprint is saved, you can share it to a social network, or with friends using email or text messaging.
To access Footprints from the Home screen, go to All Apps > Footprints. Once you have launched Footprints, tap a category for your entry and tap the + icon. To add a picture, tap the Camera icon and point the camera at the scene you want to save, tap the onscreen capture button and then tap Done to save. To edit or add additional details to a saved Footprint, select Menu > Edit.

You can view and edit Microsoft office word and excel files and view PowerPoint files using the Polaris Office application on the handset. Content, downloaded as an email attachment or files transferred onto the handset's microSD card may be accessed by this application.
To access this application from the Home screen, go to All apps > Polaris Office. The application will automatically search the microSD card for Microsoft Office files and display the results. Tap on the desired filename to open the file.
To edit a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint file, go to Menu > Edit to place the document in edit mode.To edit a Microsoft Excel file, tap on a cell and place the text or values in the formula bar.

Connected Media is an application that when connected to a DLNA capable device or adaptor, allows you to output Music, Photos, and Videos from your device wirelessly to an external player (such as a TV). To use Connected Media, enable the DLNA on the receiving device, enable Wi-Fi on your device and then connect to the listing for your DLNA device. Once connected, go to All Apps > Connected Media and select the content to be output to the external device.
Note 1: To enable Wi-Fi, go to All Apps > Settings > Wireless & networks and tap to check Wi-Fi.

Transfer is an HTC application that assists you with transferring contact, SMS messages and calendar events from an old phone to your HTC phone. This transfer is done via Bluetooth and has been proven to work with devices from Apple, Blackberry, HTC, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson although it may work with other devices from other manufacturers. You can end unwanted processes without the fear of having your system crash. Use the Task Manager to kill applications running on your tablet. To access Task Manager, open the Applications menu and tap Task Manager then tap on the "X " to kill applications running, or tap Kill all to stop all running processes.
