I want to sync my device with my Apple® Macintosh® computer, am I able to do this? more
The only desktop interaction is as a USB drive and it works with a Mac. Simply connect your device to an available USB port on your Macintosh using the included USB cable and the “MicroSD card” portion of your device will be visible as a removable drive on your Macintosh. Simply drag and drop files to this storage area as you would with any other external drive.
Can I sync my Gmail with my device? more
Yes. On your phone, you see the same Google contacts, e-mail messages, and calendar events that are stored in Google Mail, Contacts, and Calendar on the web. Likewise, when you use your computer to add, edit, or delete this information on the web, the same information are updated on your phone.
Can I sync the information from my Microsoft Outlook with my device? more
Currently, only Contacts (Outlook and Outlook Express) can be synced using HTC HotSync for users that do not have Microsoft Exchange. If you have a Microsoft Exchange account and set it up to sync your email, you can select the other PIM's to be synced as well during the set up process.
Where can I find the latest Software for my device? more
The latest software updates for you device are done over-the-air (OTA). From the Home screen, press MENU > Settings > About Phone > System software updates > select check now.
What kind of data/information/content can I sync with my device? more
HTC Sync is compatible with this device and allows you to sync Contacts and Calendar Events from Outlook and Outlook Express to your device via USB.

The USB debugging check box in HOME > MENU > Settings > Applications > Development needs to be selected for the phone to be able to synchronize with the PC using HTC Sync. You can find the latest version of HTC Sync and drivers from Support section of our website.
How do I copy files, music and video between my phone and PC? more
To transfer files from your computer to your phone’s storage card, you need to set the phone’s storage card as a USB drive. Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable, and open the Notifications panel. “Select to change USB connection type”. Select Disk Drive and touch Done, the phone will appear as an external USB drive in your computer.
Why can't I synchronize my phone and PC using HTC Sync? more
Before syncing for the first time, please ensure that USB Debugging is turned on in MENU > Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging. If still not able to synchronize please download the latest driver and HTC Sync software from the Support section at www.htc.com/ca . Your Antivirus or Firewall application must also be set to allow HTC Sync access. If previously able to synchronize you can uninstall any recently installed applications and uninstall and reinstall HTC Sync. If still not able to connect please contact us using the Support section at www.htc.com/ca .
I want to sync my device with my MAC, am I able to use HTC Sync to do this? more
HTC Sync is not compatible with Macintosh computers. While you will be unable to use HTC Sync to synchronize your PIM information, you can transfer files such as music, movies, photos, etc. to your HTC Magic by mounting the Magic as a disk drive.
Every time I connect my phone to a PC running windows XP the Found New Hardware Wizard launches and it says it Cannot Install This Hardware? more
To mount your phone as a USB drive, after connecting to your PC, open the Notifications Panel (by touching and then dragging the status bar down) on your device, then in the Notifications Panel, touch USB connected and then touch Mount.
Why should I use my Google account to sync with my phone? more
Using a Google account on your phone will provide synchronization between Google services such as Gmail, contacts, and calendar events.
