Summary:
The User Experience Director for HTC Online will be responsible for user experience design and interactive content direction for all of HTC’s websites, social media hubs and communities. But beyond great design and content, this role requires a leader who understands the role of storytelling: whether it’s a piece of stand-alone content or an entire web property, we want to create emotional and authentic stories through the voice of our customers.
This role will demand an individual who can fill many roles as we reinvent the consumer engagement program for HTC worldwide. This leadership position will report to the Worldwide Director of Digital Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all UX and visual design direction for HTC-owned websites, social media channels and communities globally.
- While working closely with the brand team, evolve the HTC design language to better leverage the interactive nature and possibilities of digital.
- Function as an ambassador for the needs of our customers, assuring that our digital roadmap meets their needs while supporting our business and driving greater affinity for the HTC brand.
- Partner closely with our online, social, CRM and analytics leads to create experiences that are centered in analytics while still meeting our goals for impactful and authentic storytelling.
The successful candidate will have:
- Eight to ten years of professional experience, five or more in the design field
- Passionate customer advocate and creative storyteller that can turn big dreams into reality
- Ability to recruit, lead and manage a team of people and agencies
- Extensive experience working with business, marketing or sales initiatives with teams or partners that are geographically dispersed.
- Experience running virtual teams and influencing a range of people from various organizations that are geographically dispersed.
- The willingness to travel regularly internationally and work odd hours in order to coordinate with teams that are spread across the globe.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to think, plan and execute resourcefully, across multiple tasks, with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in the consumer electronics and mobile phone industry is a plus.
