Summary:
This position will require outstanding design skills (research, sketching, form/detail development and CAD modeling/rendering), great communication, and the desire to work on a wide range of products in a creative and multidisciplinary collaborative studio. Responsibilities:

• Consumer research and competitive marketplace analysis.
• Industrial design, refinement, and documentation of designs. 
• Develop the design using hand sketching, 2D/3D software programs such as Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Shot.
• Responsible for the industrial design of a variety of mobile phone accessories.
• Specific tasks include project management, consumer research, competitive marketplace analysis, industrial design, refinement, and documentation of designs. 
• Develop the design using hand sketching, Rhinoceros software program and 2D/3D CAD (computer-aided drafting). 
• Confer with engineering, marketing, and production, and/or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products. 
• Coordinate the look and function of product lines.  Design graphic material for use as ornamentation, illustration, or advertising on manufactured materials and packaging or containers. 
• Direct and coordinate the fabrication of models or samples and the drafting of working drawings and specification sheets from sketches. 
• Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform to customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends. 
• Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, and/or blueprints, using drafting instruments, paints and brushes, or computer-aided design equipment. Present designs and reports to customers or design committees for approval, and discuss need for modification. 
• Read publications, attend showings, and study competing products and design styles and motifs to obtain perspective and generate design concepts.
• Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. Participate in project design reviews, giving creative feedback to other team members.

Qualifications:

• Industrial Designer with 0-3 years of relevant industrial design experience.
• BS in Industrial Design or closely related.
• Presentation and public speaking skills
• Up to 25% travel required
