CNC Process Engineer

Summary:
CNC Engineer will create, document, develop, and implement procedures required to assemble, test, process, and manufacture the products of the company in the most productive manner possible. The ideal candidate will have


Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, costs reduction, and throughput
  • Agree with ID roadmap for CNC suppliers
  • Precisely quantify existing supplier base in CNC capability & give potential improvements
  • Redefine CNC supplier strategy & projects assignments with Sourcing & RD
  • Define Product / Process ESI (including fixture & jigs)
  • Improve CNC Cycle time & Cost based on drive of supplier process 
  • Drive yield, minimize operators/line, drive DPPM to best in class level 
  • Streamline and improve processes, to reduce the number of program steps, improve efficiencies, cut costs, etc.
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments
  • Collaborate with design engineering regarding products launches, tooling and design to ensure effective production methods
  • Support process improvement efforts and cycle time reduction efforts in the CNC turning departments
  • Implement project schedules and plans in a timely effective manner
  • Cycle time estimating for new part quotes
  • Confer with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment parts, material purchases, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications
  • Drive supplier development programs , supported by other CE members
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly method, and quality control standards to drive continuous improvement throughout all plant operations
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve and document manufacturing processes
  • Confer with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment parts, material purchases, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications
  • Technical training for employees
  • Provide engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems

The successful candidate will have:

  • Master degree in Mechanical &/or CNC  from an accredited university
  • 2 years’ work experience with Apple, Google, Samsung or Nokia a plus
  • 5 years’ experience with Magnesium / Aluminum-zinc alloy / Stainless steel metal parts manufacturing process and product development (Including surface finished treatment, such as Anodizing, PVD, plating, coating or Polish.. etc.)
  • Experienced in CNC CAD / CAM, CNC Program edit & skilled in Extrusion, punch, forging &  MIM etc
  • Live tooling experience on turning equipment, tool setting probe, and understand tool geometry/grades/trip brakers
  • Requires hands-on experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing Techniques
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical or electro technical drawings
  • Ability to apply Lean Principles
  • Ability to use various engineering tools such as AutoCad, Solid-Works, Six-Sigma, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Process Flows, Value Stream Mapping, CAPA's etc.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin a plus
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize time and workload to meet deadlines
  • Travel up to 50%
