  1. Available storage is less due to phone software.
  2. Network bands in regions other than Europe and Asia Pacific may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
  3. NFC availability depends on the mobile operator and your location. Please check with your mobile operator.
  4. Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.
A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.

Note: Specifications are subject to change without prior notice

Rated 4 out of 5 by A Complete Package for Work and Play Being a power user concerned with portability, productivity and functionality combined in a smallest piece, I was looking for a phone which would fill the place of several devices and be a power phone rather than just smartphone. I was pretty inspired by the simple look of the Windows Phone 8 OS, and was looking for a perfect device to blend with this OS, and I came across the 8X, beautifully crafted, premium feel in hand, gorgeous display and awesome feeling when you hold it in your hand. My videos look amazing on its HD display and the touch is super responsive! One of the best things I like about this phone is the camera, the video recording of 1080p quality with 45fps is simply superb, came in handy during family functions! The speaker is quite impressive, is loud and clear. And I like the speaker grills at the back, it adds to the overall look of the phone. The phone is real thin and whenever I look at it, I always wonder how beautifully the unibody design is flushing with the display. Now coming to some cons about this device, being a power user, I really felt 16gb to be very less, that limits my productivity and stuff I could do. There should've been a SD card slot to tackle this issue. It's really bad it offers only 16GB. Second thing is the battery life. It hardly lasts a single full day, and drain in screen off is considerable. I don't know if this is an OS issue, but definitely HTC should have done something to improve the battery life as they have done on the Androids. Overall its a fun device to capture beautiful pictures (even in low lights I found them to be of good quality), to watch high definition videos, to type on the ultra responsive screen, and with beats, you also have a music system with you with good quality sound and sound effects. So this is definitely a complete package for both work and play! February 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Cellphone All in all an awesome phone. Fast and Sleek. The buttons are a little hard to press or find but other then that the phone is really great. ( the camera button DOESN'T get pressed accidentally.) February 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bye Bye Android I've been an android user for years and this is my first Windows Phone. I was a bit nervous about making the switch but can't even begin to explain how happy I am now that I did. The primary reason for the switch is for the email/office integration features. The phone itself is very thin and light (especially coming from a Droid 4), and the screen is perfectly sized IMO (bigger than my Droid 4 but not too big). The feel of the screen is very smooth and is very bright and colorful. It's nice that I won't have to put a screen protector on with the Gorilla glass and hinder the quality. The phone is very responsive and is extremely easy to navigate. Having only three buttons, it's pretty straight forward - especially for a novice user. So far the call quality is very good as well. The OS itself is amazing. I love the tiles - which make the Android and iPhone screens seem archaic. There are waaaay more apps out there for this phone that what I imagined - plenty to cover my needs and more (and I'm an avid tech geek). The integration that MSFT has built into Windows 8 between the phone, pc, tablet, etc. is definitely a time saver and a breath of fresh air. No more need to download 3rd party apps for email, contacts, file sharing, etc. Overall, I highly recommend! February 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding device, meets me needs perfectly The Windows Phone 8X by HTC is a great phone all around. The build is exactly what I expect of HTCs, very slick look with an excellent in-hand feel. I've gotten many complements about that specific aspect, the 8X is extremely comfortable to hold with the curved back and sides. It's got the in-hand comfort of a much smaller phone, very smart design. Music sound quality is quite good, get a decent pair of headphones and it works very well as a PMP. It drives my heavier pair of headphones better than the average smartphone too which is great, a result of the Amp. The 4.3" 720x1280 9:16 screen is excellent. The Windows Phone live tiles pop very nicely and with accurate colours. As expected with a 341ppi display, items on screen are rendered with exceptional detail and crispness. I've unfortunately put a trio of scratches the display in the 3 months I've owned it, seems Gorila Glass 2 isn't quite a match for granite. If you are super picky about keeping it flawless a cover isn't a bad idea, though I believe it looks better with a few scratches than with a piece of cheap plastic mucking it up. Battery life is great, not exactly class leading, but I believe all but the most heavy users will be satisfied with it. I regularly finish my 7AM to 4PM day with 55-65% left. On 3.5G browsing Reddit it takes about an average of 10% off the battery to browse for around 35 minutes, screen at medium, for a real like example. Software is Microsoft's Windows Phone 8. It is an excellent system, in my not-so-humble opinion it's a nice breath of fresh air compared to Android and a much more pleasant user experience. Everything is just so much cleaner looking and more pleasant to use. The whole system is extremely fluid, not a hint of slowdown anywhere. System maintenance and upkeep required is also non-existent, unlike Android. February 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by You just gotta love this amazing device! Functional, capable with amazing design. It's HTC 8X! SCREEN Made from Gorilla Glass 2 with curved edges making the screen itself top of the range. It has 341 pixels per inch with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (720p) on a 4.3'' screen size. When you combine all of these things you are going to get amazing vivid colors, superb brightness and if you are in direct sunlight you can still see everything on your device. Crisp display is one of the things that separate this amazing device from others. SOUND Dr Dre's Beats Audio technology is integrated in 8X, making it first Windows Phone 8 device that has Beats Audio technology integrated This is basically an amplifier in your headphone jack that will allow you to have very clear and amazing sound. Even if you are going to use large set of headphone it's going to be more then enough to pump the sound to them. This phone is going to take you seriously if you demand sound quality and it will provide it through multimedia, music and with voice calls. CAMERA One of big surprises when I got this phone in my hands is the camera, and dedicated camera button that should be a must have for mobile devices considering that we use our mobile camera more and more. Front camera has 2.1 megapixels and it's going to help you capture amazing clear shoots, and F2.0 aperture is going to make those shots even more amazing, While front camera can record 1080p video. Main camera has 8 megapixels with auto focus and LED flash. BSI sensor is going to help with shots in low light environment It has F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens. Before pointing and shooting you can adjust shutter speed, color and resolution. The camera links you to a range of apps that are recommended for picture manipulation. While camera does not have burst more, nor panorama feature it's still amazing. My favorite is using it at 6 megapixels for taking wide screen shots, and 8 megapixel for very detailed shots that will really amaze you. DESIGN I just love the shape and the feel of the phone. It fits perfectly in my hand, pocket and on my desk. Colors are eye catching, and I can say that it draws a lot of attention because you don't see a lot of colored phones out there (mine is blue). Body curves make the phone very slim and you have a feeling that back just connects to the front of the phone. Back of the phone has an amazing finish that melts with your hand and it's not slippery so you can be sure that it will stay in your hand. BATTERY Embedded & rechargeable Li-ion Polymer battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh gives me more then a day of usage. With 3G and Wi-Fi activated it more then enough. Standby battery life is superb with 3 days with minimal use. HARDWARE The phone uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon dual core 1.5Ghz processor with 1GB of RAM making it super fast, and user is presented with a fluid experience while using it. CPU and memory will allow you to keep that experience with everything you throw at it. It supports fastest version of 3G, called HSPA+ that can really show you what speed is. GPS antenna with GLONASS allow you to use your favorite navigation apps from Marketplace. From connectivity you can find 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 3.1, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and it's NFC capable. One of biggest surprises that I got after connecting my 8X to my Ubuntu laptop is that file transfer works out of the box. You can understand my surprise that this works considering that Windows Phone OS is manufactured by Microsoft. I know that not many of you are using Linux as your main system but this is a big deal and it should be known if any other Linux users is considering in buying this amazing device. OS I had my reservations about Windows Phone but now I must say that it's all gone. OS is fast, easy to use and very intuitive. From WP7 to WP8 you can see that Microsoft is doing a good job, and HTC recognized that. In case you have a reservation about the OS I would urge you to first try it out. As a big Android fan i was presently surprised. DURABILITY: I am not using a case with my phone because it feels great in my hand, it's not slippery and Gorrila Glass 2 provides great protection. I just feel safe using the phone as it is, and I would urge you to try holding the phone to see how it feels. HTC 8X is an amazing device and it will exceed your expectations as it did mine. The phone is easy to use with smooth and very fast UI, and when you combine video and sound quality you get a superb device. This is the phone that stands our from others. February 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good stuff Especially for those enthused with an older Windows Phone, this gadget is an impressive update. Coming from WP7 on an HTC Surround, it became clear that many people had the same issues with 7 as I did, and a great effort was put in to smooth these quips out. Though I am not an app user myself, I am quite aware that the market is simply not the same as with Android or iPhone users, but I believe that the overall experience on this Windows device was better than any comparable competitor. Large screen, durable, lightweight, quick-responding, etc. Good stuff. February 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this phone This is my first smart phone and man, what a phone. Was used to ios because of my iPod and I wanted something simple and different. Love the colors and design. Buttons along the side at little. Of a pain but with an otter box commuter case that problem runs out the door. Would like the option to change some things like from Bing to google or yahoo or what not. And the ability to turn off rotation. Would also like to set a photo for the home screen but that may happen in the future. And since the apps are new just need to keep updating them to make them easier to use. Love this phone!!!! Love the blurple color! February 28, 2013
